We are selling our 1973 Saab Sonett III. This car came from Johnson City, IL. it was owned by a guy that collected cars and had around 50 of them from 1978 until June 13, 2016. The owner before him was a doctor from Belleville, Il in 1973-1978, but the second owner told us the 32,000 was the original miles. It had the original tires that was still holding air. This is the original color of the car. Saab called it California Burgundy, which the car was taken apart and has been freshly redone. It has only been driven approximately 50 miles after new paint job. There are no cracks in the body. The car was lifted up and the floor boards and trunk panel was all restored. There was very little rust anywhere under the car, other than the trunk which was restored. The engine has all new hoses, new water pump, new alternator belt, silicone valve cover gaskets, new mechanical fuel pump and all new fuel lines, new slave cylinder, hydraulic clutch was rebuilt, brake master cylinder was rebuilt, new brake lines and front brake pads and rear shoes and new rear wheel cylinders. The tires are new shocks, new mufflers and tail pipe, Fuel tank and fuel sender was all cleaned, new oil in engine, transmission gear lube is new. It still has original Fomoco carburetor, which was rebuilt. We have the original transmission that came with the car, the second owner said he thinks there is a gear bad in it and had a different transmission installed years ago. The transmission in the car sounds good and shifts good. We do not think the free wheeling is working and don't know why. The second owner did not remember. The car has a new battery. The centers of the seats were re-upholstered with matching fabric. New seals around doors and rear glass. All the carpet is still original. The headliner was taken out and it needs to be done. It also needs a brake light switch. It needs new window wipe seals, which you can get from Jack Ashcraft. We are sure there is more if you have any questions please let me know.
