I am retiring and moving and won’t be taking this one with me.The motor and running gear in the truck was in good shape and didn’t need any internal repair. I completely stripped the truck inside and out to clean and re-paint. The cab and undercarriage was in good shape excepting the hood. There were some dimples possibly from hail and I didn’t want to cover with filler so I replaced the hood. The bed had rust over the fender wells and inside the bed and on the tailgate so I removed and discarded it. I finished the rest of the truck while looking for a good bed. Everything I was finding was similar to what I discarded but finally found one a few months ago. It had no rust inside or out excepting a pea size hole behind the rear wheels in the lower quarters on both sides. The tailgate was also rust free but does have a bow in it at the top and a few dings which doesn’t affect its operation. The bed did have the lower small racetrack molding and those holes had to be filled. There were several dings and little creases on it inside and out but nothing major and I could not find any evidence of previous repair.The paint on the truck is single stage enamel and after about six months the bed could be color sanded and buffed for full smoothness and sheen or leave as is.The trim on the truck is good but not perfect. The grille surround has lost most of its shine and the front bumper has a few small spots of surface rust on top that is hard to see in the photographs. All the glass is good.The interior is good all around. I had to replace the dash pad with a good factory one I found on ebay. I didn’t re-upholster the seat but put a new saddle blanket cover on it as I always liked them for my own use. I don’t like the replacement rubber floor coverings that I was finding so I put in new form fitted carpet instead.I don’t consider the truck a show truck but it is in very good shape. In today’s terminology it would probably be termed an upper level driver. It hasn’t been driven fifty miles in the past five years. I start all of mine up on a regular schedule and move them around to keep everything loosened up. It has never set outside since I’ve had it.The tires are almost full tread but do have some age on them now. There is an extra wheel like the ones on it that goes with it. The battery in the photographs does not go with the truck. It is one I use to move them around. I will purchase a new battery with warranty and install it before the truck is picked up. The only thing I’ve been unable to find is a factory fan shroud but it seems fine without it.Below is a list of new parts I’ve put on the truck:Brakes, Emergency brake cables, Power steering pump, Exhaust manifold (old one was cracked at donut gasket flange), factory replacement muffler, rebuilt carburetor. I will let the auction run its 7 day course. The reserve is fair and I expect it will go above it. In order to isolate only serious buyers there is a $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end. The deposit can be paid by bank wire but the balance must be in cash on pick up. On May-26-18 at 08:40:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to list with the new parts that new lockout hubs, door seals and door window weatherstrip kits are on the truck. Also a full set of 1979 factory Ford shop manuals go with it including owners manual. I am here most of the time if you want to come or send someone to inspect the truck.
