For sale is a 2005 Dodge Viper SRT10 Mamba Edition #161/200 with 20,734 miles. It sports the black on silver ACR color scheme with red on black interior and looks great. Clean history and clear, notarized title. All maintenance is up to date and all of the mechanical “Achilles heals” of this model have been addressed: The car can corner in excess of 1.00g and some have experienced oil starvation during sustained, high-speed cornering, even on street tires (although the 2005 models received updated main bearings that were superior to the 2003-04 models). Dodge fixed the problem in the 2008-on cars by redesigning the oil pan and adding an articulating oil pickup. This car has the Viper Specialty Performance $2,000 race swing arm and pickup kit installed that is essentially the aforementioned factory parts machined to fit on the earlier cars. It also adds an additional quart of oil for a total of 11 quarts. Window regulators commonly fail on these cars. This car has had both driver and passenger side window regulators replaced with the updated 2013-on part number 04865610/11AI.In extreme circumstances, the rear toe link support can fracture causing a loss of control (the NHTSA conducted a full investigation of this and concluded there was no reason to do a recall). In case this ever were to happen, this car has the ViperPartsUSA toe link support kit installed. The power steering lines have been known to leak over time. This car has the JTS Performance lines installed. The oil cooler lines have also been known to leak on these cars due to age. This car has the Roe Racing lines installed.The original Dynamic Suspension coilover shocks eventually leak – not to mention the fact that the ride was less than desirable from the factory. To correct this, a set of height and ride adjustable BC coilovers were added with the optional Swift springs fitted. This high performance V10 has been known to pull oil vapor in through the PCV system. Over time, oil can coat the intake runners and reduce the octane rating of the fuel, leading to detonation. This car has a Moroso oil catch can complete with AN fittings and lines that condenses the oil vapor before it gets into the engine - it works very well.This car is hard on the factory rubber engine mounts which will eventually fail. This car has the Woodhouse polyurethane engine and transmission mounts installed.
