I was looking for a nice well cared for Porsche Turbo two years ago. I finally got lucky finding one locally at an authorized Porsche dealer. I usually always seem to find cars out of state and have the extra expense of shipping enclosed back home. The salesman told me they normally wholesale older model trade-ins since they can't Porsche certify them, however they felt this particular Porsche Turbo with low miles and considering they personally knew the trade-in owner that they would PPI the car and sell it at the dealership. When I purchased the car the dealer had installed four new Michelin Pilot Sport tires and performed a four wheel alignment. I suffer from OCD so once I bought the car home I went around and nit picked it. I purchased 4 new center wheel crest caps, the original ones where dull. No curb rashes on rims. I ordered front and rear OEM black logo floor mats. The hood shocks were weak as stated on PPI along with the cut on my head when the hood came down on me..lol so I replace them with OEM. The car had a door ding and a superficial chip on the right front fender when I purchased it. I had my ding guy come over and repair it along with any other minor door dings. I replaced the front spoiler with a new OEM. I also removed the CD holder and purchased from the dealer and installed the empty compartment over the climate control. The CD holder comes with the car. I needed a place for my phone, garage door opener and sun glasses. I also purchase some other little nickel and dime stuff like Porsche crest valve caps along with a Porsche umbrella. I have receipts for all. While cleaning the trunk and removing the spare to vacuum under it I found the previous 2nd owners registration and decided to google him to ask him about the car. With todays privacy laws you can't get any of this information from the dealer. He was reluctant at first to speak to me and questioned how I obtained his number. So I told him his old registration was under the spare. He laughed and that seemed to break the ice. He explained to me that he purchased the car with low miles from the original owner and kept up the maintenance at the Porsche dealerships in Illinois and Florida. He would ship the car back and forth between the two states since he had two residences. He confirmed that the car had no accidents in his ownership or paint work. He mentioned he replaced the original Navigation radio with a Kenwood since we all know the factory one is shit. He swapped out the original shifter for a short throw for more responsive shifting. He also had the car tuned and chipped to produce an additional 50hp totaling 475hp. He raved about the car and stated he traded it in at the dealer in Florida for a new Porsche. I find that I take previous owners of cars at there word since they really have no reason to lie about it once they are no longer owners. As stated above, I suffer from OCD so I like everything clean. Drives my wife crazy, but after 34 years she still puts up with me. I pulled the wheels and cleaned the wheel wells, backs of the wheels and since I have a lift in my garage I hand wash the bottom of the car and spray wax it. The red calipers are really nice. Most of the cars that I looked at needed them painted. This one didn't when I purchased it. rotors are pitted car runs great, My wife and I have driven it approximately 2500 miles in our 17 months of ownership. The full leather seats are near new. I condition the leather twice a year. I have it insured with collector car insurance for pleasure use so it's not a daily driver. A/C blow ice cold, car shifts flawlessly, all the lights, spoiler riser, radio all work. Radio has Navigation, blue tooth, XM capability, hands free for your phone. I'm not sure if factory CD player in trunk works, who listens to CD in todays world of downloading. Car is being sold AS IS WHERE IS. Car is titled in my LLC and I have title in hand. Please no tire kickers or joy riders. Get your spouses permission before hitting BUY IT NOW. As you can see I have other high end cars and Gassers, not a fire sale. Cash or wire transfer as payment.
