Vehicle Detail

This is the best deal you will ever find on a 305 Scrambler. I have taken on several other projects and need room....Here's the Good news....THIS IS THE BEST RUNNING CL77 I HAVE EVER SEEN OR RIDDEN. IT IS EXCEPTIONALLY SMOOTH, POWERFUL, AND SMOOTH SHIFTING. It runs very very well. They told me it had not run in years....but the motor spun freely...i scoped the bores and they were extremely clean...ordereed up a set of Japanese quality carb kits, a new battery, new plugs, changed the oils and cleaned out the filter which was very clean...all good so far, Set the valves, checked the timing, balanced the carbs statically....compression was 110 lbs each side cold...replaced all the gas lines, rebuilt the petcock, installed new fuel filters, added a gallon of VP and it fired on the FIRST KICK I KID YOU NOT....5 minutes of carb fiddling and it idles perfectly....clutch plates freed up within 50 yards and it runs PERFECTLY!...YEAH!!!!! I think you could start this motor by hand....its that easy to start. So mechanically I think it is a sound bike..... but its a bit of a "Frankenbike". The handlebars are ridiculously wide...looks like a Texas Longhorn...(easy fix)....the from rim is different from the back rim....right size but not shouldered like the rear rim....... Front fender and mount needs some love but can be bent to fit better, Its sits higher in the front than it should.. And somebody thought Matt black rattle can was a great idea for the tank and fenders....sigh, But the gas tank is in GREAT shape....virtually no rust or dents... Fenders are an easy smooth out a repaint as well. Very little needed to make this bike look 100 percent better. YOU ARE TWO CANS OF PAINT AND A LONG WEEKEND AWAY FROM ADDING A GRAND MINIMUM TO THE VALUE OF THIS BIKE..... but runs great and straight and brakes and shifts well. LOOK PAST THE COSMETICS This is an easy restoration to complete. I HAVE NO INFO OTHER THAN WHAT IS HAVE RELAYED HERE. GREAT BONES....RIDE IT AS IS....AND COLLECT NEEDED PARTS...OR SAND THE TANK AND FENDERS AND FOR 10 BUCKS AT AUTO ZONE.... PICK OUT SILVER GRAY CALIBER PAINT...SEE THE LAST TWO PHOTOS....THIS COLOR IS VERY CLOSE TO HONDA GREY FOR NEXT TO NOTHING AND CALIBER PAINT IS VERY TOUGH......SAND AND SMOOTH THE EXISTING BLACK PAINT SMOOTH AND SPRAY CAN IT VERY CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL COLOR FOR NEXT TO NOTHING. I PAID WAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS ONE...MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN. COME STEAL IT FROM ME. FREE PICKUP IN SAN DIEGO, OR I WILL WORK WITH YOUR SHIPPER....DELIVERY IS ON YOUR DIME. 619-980-9802 JOHN ZOn Mar-15-18 at 22:20:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to clarify the last two pictures are the can of paint I used on my own Honda 160 in the last photograph it was also butt ugly when I bought it and it now looks great for literally two cans of brake caliper paint. The gas tank is a correct cl77 gas tank that has had the side pads removed and filled in the indentations and also remove the indentations in filled in where the Honda badges go this was done quite often back in the day as when the new Honda cl450 came out their new tank did not have these old style indentations in a lot of guys who couldn't afford the new CL 450s made their CL 305 look very much the same I've actually bought two other 305 that had the same thing done to them and I ended up spraying them in the silver putting on high-quality Honda emblem stickers and then clearing over them all they look fantastic if you're looking for original you can always find a used tank with the indentations frankly I think this will look great in silver but beauty is in the eye of the beholder if you're looking at this bike you're obviously not looking at trying to find something to win at the Honda Concours but rather a very solid driver they will get tons of attention remember this is a 50 year old bike most folks have never even seen one yeah it was absolutely revolutionary at its time we considered this the poor man's Triumph that you didn't have to check the garage floor to see if it had oil in it oh and by the way it was a Honda so it runs... Forever.
