This car had a frame-off restoration that was completed in 1987 (as evidenced by several of the photos which show the insulation between the frame and body). The car was driven in a few parades and for some pleasure driving (fewer than 500 miles). The transmission was noisy and the owners intended to have it rebuilt. However, the owners passed away before this work was done so the car remained parked in a heated garage on blocks (with fluids drained and cylinders oiled) and protected with a car cover. The son of the owners recently decided to have it reconditioned to sell. Following is a description of the car's current condition:The body is all steel and and the paint is very good. All the glass is in good condition.The car is upholstered in its original mohair fabric and is as new.The vinyl top is also in new condition.The tires look new; no cracking on sidewalls; original rubber nubs are still visible.Recent work completed:Carburetor rebuilt;Gas shut-off valve and fuel bowl replaced;Battery shut-off switch installed; Transmission rebuilt (gears and bearings replaced);All fluids (antifreeze, oil, and gas) drained and replaced. It is my firm belief that all the above statements are accurate but, for your own peace of mind, please don't hesitate to hire your own consultant to assess this car before purchase. This is a vintage vehicle and is being sold as is.
