Vehicle Detail
1999 Toyota Celica GT, Automatic, Convertible, black on black, 2.2, 2200, 16 valve unmolested with only 125k on one of Toyota’s flag ship motors that are known to run great with 500k on them. You will be hard pressed to find another in such condition. Just look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. This is my everyday driver so miles may go up. And if I wasn’t moving to the country up in Tenn. I would keep her. It’s almost that time of year to put the roof down and feel the breeze, go topless! I’m bias but think it’s best Celica Toyota ever produced...She runs, drives and handles as good as she looks with amazing power produced out of Toyota’s flag ship 2.2 motor that they put same motor in the Camry’s too. And gas mileage is great. Always maintained and oil changed every three thousand miles religiously. I just had all new motor mounts installed, new radiator, thermostat, belts and new battery. Also had top of line very bright L E D lights installed with the built in fans. Next, spent 500 on all new drilled and slotted rotors with brand new pads (disc brakes all four tires) installed with ceramic red paint sitting on year old 205/55/R15 factory rims and tires. And did you notice the blacked out tail lights, turn signals and marker lights? Just had windows professionally tinted with best on market tint at expense of 325 bucks. And if that wasn’t enough, had her painted (stayed with factory color code) at high end paint shop (no maco job) at price of 1700 hundred bucks... Paint wast too bad, but clear coat was starting to fade. Was stripped, primed and painted back to factory black with base and clear coat specifications. Yes I know I won’t get all my money back, but not going to give it away either. It’s kind of like a hobby of mine (or addiction my wife says) to bring these older cars back to condition of new again, bring them to life again, lol!The interior is just as nice as exterior! I think it has every option Toyota had at the time with such as; power steering, power brakes, power antenna, power windows (front & rear), locks, mirrors and even power convertible top that all work flawlessly. Ice cold A/C, heat, rear defrost, tilt wheel, cruise control, factory fog lights and alarm, driver and passenger air bags, AM/FM/CD player with those expensive red (forgot the sub brand) Sony 8 speaker stereo system. Also had multi colored Toyota symbol lights added in the doors that when opened at night, shines the Toyota emblems on the pavement road. Yes I have seat covers on front seats. Yet make no mistakes, there are no rips and are in just as great shape as the rear seats. Looked hard to find this GT edition without that nasty leather they put in most. And seats are cool as they are black with the colored inserts in the middle of them with like blues, reds and greys mixed in them. Look at back seat picture, fronts are the same. The two worst things I could say about the car is; there is a couple of rips in drivers side carpet. But it’s under mat that you don’t even see. And yes you will get a couple drops out of the top when it rains. The convertibles all do it and someone is lying to you if they tell you otherwise. Think drain holes need cleaned out, just never got around to getting it done. For her age, she is in beautiful shape and hope you love her as much as I did. She won’t let you down and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive her anywhere. Ask all and any question before auction ends. Even better, come see her for yourself in person. I’m in Tarpon Springs, FL.
