DESCRIPTIONThis classic 1981 Porsche 928 with a 5 speed manual transmission is in running condition making it a perfect platform for either a full restoration or for track use. Odometer shows 133k but as you might expect the gear is worn so consequently it is sold TMU. Car has power seats and is fitted with staggered Porsche Design 90 alloys rims in 16" (from a 964) and a wing spoiler (from a 928 S2) which gives the car a more contemporary look. I have a clear Georgia title for the car. The vehicle is located at my home in Dahlonega, GA, about 75 miles north of Atlanta. CONDITIONThis 928 has a brand new battery. Engine starts/idles/runs fine although the throttle cable is a little sticky at this time. Engine compartment certainly not a show queen but everything is there. Hood (and trunk) shocks installed less than 2 years ago. A bungee cord holds the air filter cover in place. There is a slight fuel smell noticeable under the hood however I have not been able to locate a leak. As you may know, replacing fuel lines on these engines is good practice. Clutch action is acceptable and gear shifts are smooth with the exception of some difficulty downshifting third to second, indicating an issue with the 2nd gear syncro mechanism. Brakes are functional and safe. All exterior lighting is functional. Speedometer and other gauges work minus the odometer. Seats front and rear are substantially worn and will need refurbishing. Console, door panels and other trims have been removed for an intended restoration but all pieces are included. Wheels are in more than decent condition. The tires are mixed, still have some tread and do hold air but I would recommend replacing them before driving for any significant distance. Body condition is fair to good, with no significant dents or dings, however the rear fascia shows signs of repair. Paint is in fair condition; original color was green. Compact spare is included as is the cargo area carpet. Also included in the sale is a complete matched lockset (as current ones don't match) consisting of ignition, doors, and glove box.
