Vehicle Detail

This beloved car was my daily driver until last spring, when it was replaced by a station wagon with more hauling space. I have owned it for about six years and have made too many repairs to mention or even recall. Notably, I replaced the injectors a couple years ago, making a big improvement to the acceleration. All standard maintenance -- brakes, fluids, filters -- has been done religiously. Nevertheless, it remains a work in progress. At present, the rear left axle is making a clicking noise at the wheel and almost certainly needs to be replaced, a job that is neither expensive nor difficult. It also has a bit of rust around the driver's side rear fender, and, more significantly, on the drivers's side rear floorboards. I have fought it with POR-15 with acceptable results, even though it is surely a losing battle in the long term. The rest of the body shines up decently, as the pictures show, thanks to its having spent most of its life in South Carolina. The windshield has a hairline crack but the car still passes inspection because the crack is outside area covered by the wipers. It burns a bit of oil, as might be expected for the age, but still runs strong. It would make a solid daily driver for someone with the ability to do their own work. The odometer reading (368K) is certainly inaccurate, by the way. The previous owner reported that the engine had been replaced with a lower mileage one, in addition to the fact that the speedometer cable has been acting up since I went through a snow bank last winter. I would guess the engine has about 250k, which is not a lot for these cars. The tires are virtually new and have perhaps 5k on the them. The car will also come with a complete set of snow tires on original bundt wheels, which I used for only one winter. I also have many other parts if you want them, including window glass and interior panels salvaged from a car used on a movie set in Brooklyn (the movie was called Burn After Reading if you are interested). Naturally there is a lot more to be said about the car, so please ask. It also goes without saying that the parts, wheels and tires alone are worth the asking price. I am eager to see the car go to someone who will keep it on the road. If you are local, I am happy to arrange a time for you to see the car.
