Vehicle Detail

BMW 1965 R69S Selling a very nice 1965 R69S, this bike is in excellent condition. I have ridden this bike for a while and it starts great, pulls strong and shifts smoothly. I purchased this bike from an older BMW vintage BMW collector. He had 5 vintage BMW’s and this one was his favorite. He said of all his bikes, this one was the best. I feel like all vintage BMW’s are great, but every now and then you find one that’s just better than the rest. I feel like this is one of those bikes. The R69S is a true collector’s bike; this model consistently is increasing in value. I have an original dealer’s tag that went on a R69S when it was new and it was selling for $1,536. Look what they are going for now. Great investment that you can ride and enjoy!NOTE* To any serious bidders, I can send you a video of the bike starting on the first kick and a video of the bike running and driving. I will list some of the items that were completed to make sure this bike is solid and will make a great rider and a possible candidate for a restoration. The best part about this bike, if it runs, drives and shifts. You know it’s all there and working great. I dropped the oil pan to inspect the condition of the oil and possible buildup in the pan. The oil was in good condition and almost no contamination in the pan, good sign this bike was maintained well. I cleaned the oil pan and installed a new gasket. I also checked the compression (see pic) the compression was excellent. 145 PSI. The carbs were a little dirty from setting. I dismantled the “matching number carbs” and cleaned them in a heated ultrasonic cleaner for about 3 days. This will clean all passage ways extremely good. I rebuilt the carbs (see pics). I also machined the flange that bolts to the head flat, this is probably one of the most overlooked areas of these vintage bikes. Over time the flanges will get a slight bevel or warp to them from being over tightened. This area will allow air to bypass the carbs and your bike will not run properly. This area has been corrected (see pics) I drained the gear oil in the transmission, rear drive and drive shaft, refilled all of the above with new gear oil. I installed new Michelin tires front and rear plus new tubes and rim straps. Tires were also balanced with the correct spoke weights. The electrical system works great. I installed a new coil, this will make sure you have a good hot spark. I also installed 2 new spark plugs. The new plugs are a nice tan color to show you that the carbs are set correctly (see pic) The generator is charging the correct 7.2 volts (see pic) I also installed a new Interstate gel 6 volt battery. The headlight is working, low and high beam, brake light works. Generator charging light works, neutral light works. I was going to re-coat the inside of the gas tank, but it still has the original red coat sealer that is in good condition. The tank is solid and no leaks. I also have the original key for the gas tank tool door. The tank, front, rear fender and the tail light can were just painted. My painter did a great job. The original paint had a few minor scratches on it from being in storage. The mechanical condition of the bike was in such great shape I decided to make the paint look great too. I have attached a pic of the paperwork for some of the new parts that have been installed on this bike. Other items that are new and installed. New headlight reflector.New air filter. Two new hand grips. New headlight lens. New rebuild on the Karcoma fuel shut off switch.New fuel lines with two new in line filters. New speedometer. Two new fuel tank knee pads. The bike will be a great investment for the new owner. I have done just about everything I can to make sure this bike is solid and dependable. 100% of my Ebay sales are BMW vintage related and I have 100% positive feedback. I want to keep it that way. Everyone I have sold to has been very satisfied with their purchase. I have went through this bike very closely and have been riding the bike, I have not had any issues. But this is a 53 year old bike and will be sold “as is” with no warranty. The only way I will accept payment for this bike is with a wire transfer from a well known bank, this way “bank officials” are involved and will eliminate any scammers. Please note to all scammers, I’ve heard all of your scams, don’t waste my time. If you are not willing to do a safe wire transfer, do not bid. If you are new to Ebay and don’t have any Ebay history, I will not accept your bid. The winning bidder will be expected to pay a $500 deposit with the winning bid and remainder to be paid in full within 3 days of the auction ending. I do have a clear Florida title in my name, very easy transfer. Note* the title matches the numbers on the frame, ID plate and title but the numbers on the engine are different.I have set a very reasonable reserve on this bike. I'm setting the reserve at the same price I recently sold a R50 on Ebay. This R50 was running but needed a lot of work, it was not even close to the great condition this R69S is in. The R69S models are considerably more valuable than a R50. I do have 100% positive feedback and you can bid with confidence that you will be dealing with an honest Ebay seller that loves these old vintage BMW’s. I can also send a video to any serious bidders of the bike driving and shifting great. This will show any potential bidders that you can see what you are bidding on. Winning bidder will be responsible for shipping costs. My zip code is 33868 and the bike is in Polk City Florida, please get your own quote for shipping costs. It just works better if the winning bidder does this, the costs vary on the shipper used and location the bike will be going to. Thanks again and good luck.
