Vehicle Detail

1970 Torino GT for sale on ebay - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] Here is a very solid and original 1970 Torino GT. Purchased from original owner’s estate with registrations going back to 1970. This is one of the most solid and rust free Torino GT’s you will find! It has 142k miles. The 302 is bone stock and runs great. It appears to have been rebuilt but I do not have paperwork to support that. It has a C4 automatic transmission and power steering. It also has the very desirable white bucket seat interior with console. Along with factory sport wheel covers. Originally Red, it has had one repaint in a slightly darker shade of red. Other than the one repaint and an 8 track player in the dash this car is completely stock and original just the way everyone wants to buy them. It even still has the original dealer license plate frame from Southgate Ford. The body on this Torino is very solid and nearly rust free. The paint is older but still looks decent. However, there are various chips, scratches and dings from being a daily driver for many years. There are also areas of fading. It could be buffed out to look better but to be really nice it would need to be repainted but it is very presentable as is and would make a great daily driver. The door jambs, trunk etc are all still original paint. Extremely solid and original body with no rust in the floors, cowl, trunk floor or trunk lid and just a tiny amount in quarters. There is some popping out in lower door corners which is extremely common. Just a few bubbles on the driver’s side and a little worse on the passenger side door but still not bad. No evidence of previous rust repair or patches. Inside the trunk looks like new. Body is overall very straight the quarters are straight with no evidence or previous damage or repairs. Passenger side door has door dings as well as a few in other areas from being a daily driver and those could be smoothed out by a paintless dent repair shop if you so desired. Doors open and shut very nicely with no sag. Chrome is overall good without the usual pitting you see on the door top mouldings. Rocker mouldings are in nice shape. Front bumper is straight with pretty decent chrome. The rear bumper is very straight but the chrome has scratches in it. Grill looks good from outside and has nice chrome but when the hood is open you can see that it has the typical damage on top from people leaning over it and could use some repair. Driver’s remote mirror is inoperable and will either need the guts replaced or another mirror painted to match. Glass is original and in good shape other than a wiper mark low on the windshield that is out of the line of site. Sport wheel caps are in pretty good shape but of course not perfect. Tires are old and have good tread but should probably be replaced at some point. The interior has the very desirable white bucket seats with console. It is in overall good shape and is completely original other than an 8 track player that was mounted in the dash. The original dash pad is very nice with no cracks. The console is very nice with no cracks and nice chrome. A couple of the hinge mounts have broken on the inside and will need repair but there have been no holes drilled in the console like most people do to repair that. Driver’s seat is worn and has some holes in the upholstery. Passenger and rear seats are very nice. Carpet is original and worn near the door sill but overall still looks very good. Door panels are nice. Rear package tray is very nice with factory rear speakers. The headliner is nice with no rips. The interior could use some cleaning since the white shows dirt so easily but is quite serviceable. The engine runs good with no smoke or noise. It is completely stock down to the 2bbl carb and single exhaust. It starts right up with a few pumps of the gas and runs on the choke at high idle like when it was new. The transmission works well through all the gears. The car drives straight and is very smooth and quite going down the road. All electrical seems to work, lights, signals, interior lights, radio, wipers and heater. Even the original radio and horn work which is very unusual for an older vehicle. The original owner kept the car in very good mechanical shape since it was his only vehicle and it shows. I would not be afraid to drive this car anywhere. Overall this is about as original as you can get except for the slightly darker repaint. You won’t find a cleaner and more unmolested Torino GT and it is ready to drive and enjoy. Or give it an easy respray and some minor work and have a very nice Torino GT. I truly wish I had the garage space for this one so I could keep it. International buyers are welcome. Car is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. It is available for inspection by appointment only. I have done my best to describe it accurately but please understand that this is a 48 year old car that is not new and has not been restored. I have sold quite a few cars on ebay and try very hard to describe them accurately and to make sure potential buyers have any information I would want as a buyer. In fairness to all bidders I will not disclose the reserve. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, however, my intention is to let the auction run its course unless someone hits the buy-it-now. Reserve is less than reserve but everybody wants to know what it will take to end the auction so I put a buy it now on there to avoid that question and if this car is exactly what you want and you don’t want to risk losing it then you have an option. Please make sure you have funds available and have gotten permission from your wife, mom or whomever you need permission from before bidding. Full payment must be made within 5 days of auction end and vehicle must be picked up within 21 days of auction end unless prior arrangements are made. Payment by cash or wire transfer only. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will help however I can. Bidders with a feedback rating of less than 10 must contact me prior to bidding or I will cancel your bid.
