I WILL ADD MORE PHOTOS AND INFO TOMORROW. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE MINT 2009 DODGE DURANGO SECOND GENERATION 5.7 V8 HEMI 3RD ROW SEAT PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY REGARDING THE EMISSIONS TEST AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT I just took this to the emissions test station and it passed without any problems, however, for some reason the check engine light comes on if it is driven hard. The light goes back off if I remove the positive cable for 10 seconds and stays off all day long afterwards unless I accelerate pretty hard. The code that appears is P0305, so I had the engine checked with a diagnostic computer while it was idling and it didn't show any problems. I also had a compression leak down test done at the dealer and it showed the amount of leak down to be 6% which is exactly the same as it is on some brand new engines. The factory allows up to 25% leak down before they recommend repairs, so that is fine as well. I can email the receipt from the dealer that shows the results of the compression test to anyone that wants to see it. Both shops told me it couldn't be anything big since nothing shows up on any tests, and that it might be something as simple as a leaking fuel injector which only costs around $60.00 and around $150.00 in labor to change, however, I have run out of time to figure out what is causing this so I am selling it for $2400.00 less than I previously had it listed for. NADA VALUE BASED ON MILEAGE AND OPTIONS ROUGH CONDITION WHOLESALE TRADE IN .............................. $6100.00 AVERAGE CONDITION WHOLESALE TRADE IN ........................... $7075.00 CLEAN CONDITION WHOLESALE TRADE IN VALUE .................... $7875.00 CLEAN CONDITION RETAIL VALUE .............................................. $10575.00 EBAY FEEDBACK AND SELLER INFORMATION Ebay feedback is extremely important . I have received xlnt comments from others whom have bought cars from me and most of the cars I listed have sold prior to the auctions scheduled end date to buyers that used the "Buy It Now" feature. I am not a dealer . I am merely selling off a large collection of cars we have had for years and some of our relatives cars that don't have an Ebay account, however, I am a mechanic and professional vintage Muscle car restorer and some of the cars I built sold for world record prices at Barrett Jackson and other venues so I know cars extremely well. AD DESCRIPTION LENGTH My apologies for the rather lengthy ad, however, I think that someone whom is considering buying a vehicle, especially without seeing it in person, and from a person they don't know, should have as much detailed information they can about it and the seller. I see no point in posting copies of the original Ford Brochures like some people do possibly trying to make their vehicle seem better than it might actually be. GENERAL DESCRIPTION It is in beautiful condition for its age and is the very rare and gorgeous Steel Blue Metallic color which is even more rich and elegant looking in person. I has always been garaged and has never been smoked in. It has never been driven hard. It runs and drives just like it did the day it rolled off the showroom floor with the exception mentioned above. It has only had one owner. It has the very rare 3rd row rear seat option so you can fill it up with as many soccer playing kids that you can stand having in one place at one time. It also has the rare separately controlled rear air conditioning option. Both the second and third row seats fold down to make a nearly flt rear cargo area that is 8 feet long. PHOTOS Please look at the photos closely and compare them to any other car you might be interested in. Unlike many other peoples photos, all the photos I take are high resolution so you can see more detail and have a better idea of the true condition of the vehicle be it bad or good. I also take photos of areas that most others don't take including close up engine and undercarriage photos. NEARLY NEW TIRES It has the Goodyear Wrangler SRA in the factory size of 225 x 60 x 18". The fronts were manufactured in 2015 and have around 80% tread left. The rears were manufactured in 2016 and have around 90% tread left. There is zero uneven wear on any of the tires. OPTIONS It is loaded with the usual power options including air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors , cruise control and tilt steering wheel etc. It also has a factory AM/FM CD player and everything works properly. The wheels are the optional aluminum ones. I also have the complete build sheet which I obtained from a local Ford dealer and posted photos of. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS 16" ALUMINUM WHEELS IN MINT CONDITION ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WITH ENGAGE/DISENGAGE BUTTON ALPINE STEREO WITH AM FM CD DVD SIRIUS CAPABILITY AND 6 INCH SPEAKERS WITH GREAT BASS SOUND 115 HOUSE VOLTAGE OUTLET FOR POWERING SMALL APPLIANCES AND GAMES ETC ELECTRONIC REAR VIEW MIRROR AUTO DIMMING SECOND ROW SEAT FOLDS DOWN FORWARD AND ALSO RECLINES REARWARD THIRD ROW SEAT REAR AIR CONDITIONING WITH SEPARATE CONTROLS FUEL ECONOMY Contrary to what you may have heard, not all suv's get terrible gas mileage, in fact, this exact model gets a real world average of 18 mpg and some people have gotten as much as 21. MANUALS It has all the original manuals and safety cards still in the original plastic wrapper which has never been opened. SAFETY WARNING LIGHTS There are no lights on other than the check engine light which only occasionally comes on when it is driven hard. CARFAX I use Autocheck because it is more accurate and detailed than Carfax and there have been no accidents. ENGINE COMPARTMENT There are no leaks and the entire engine compartment looks nearly like it just rolled off the showroom floor including the paint on the firewalls which usually gets faded and dingy looking. UNDERCARRIAGE PHOTOS I merely sprayed the bottom to get the dust off of it, then I spent around 30 minutes wiping down the rear area with a "Quick Detailer" product and posted a few photos of it to show how clean and rust free the underside still is. As can easily be seen, it looks nearly showroom new and clean enough to eat off of. The entire undercarriage would look nearly the same if I wiped it down as well. INTERIOR SEATS - They are all in very nice condition and look nearly new. There are no rips or scrapes or cigarette holes in them. There are a couple small and extremely light/faint "dirt" marks in a couple areas from typical use but it they are nearly impossible to see and not nearly bad enough to bother us so I never tried to clean them. No one has ever sat in the 3rd row seat so it looks showroom new. HEADLINER - The headliner looks like new. The dash and door panels are very nice and are not all scratched up. The steering wheel is xlnt and is not dried out on the top from being exposed to the sun. CARPET - It looks xlnt. SCENTS - Since it was never smoked in it does not smell like an ash tray. It also hasn't been "deoderized" with the smell of cheap perfume or a scented "Air Freshener" fob that hangs on the mirror etc. BODY AND UNDERCARRIAGE There is a very small ding in the lower section of the left front passenger door around 1 1/2" in size. A paintless dent removal person could easily remove for a nominal fee, however, it is so small you have to look hard to see it and it didn't show up in the close up side view photos so it really isn't worth fixing. There are no waves or ripples in sides of the body as can be seen in those same photos which I posted to to show how extremely straight it is. There is zero rust and it has never been driven on salted roads or stored near the ocean where the salt air could corrode it. The undercarriage is also very clean and not caked up with mud or oil or road grime etc and there isn't even any glaringly obvious surface rust anywhere on the bottom side. PAINT All the paint is original and it still has a very nice shine and there is zero peeling, lifting, or fading. There are only a couple extremely small, extremely light scratches and miniscule chips, but nothing nearly big enough to be easily seen or detract from the general appearance as you can see in the photos. The door jambs are also very clean as can be seen in the photos. The bottom inside edge of the doors looks showroom new. TRANSMISSION It has the 42RLE 4 speed with the towing feature button which delays the shifts until higher rpms and creates a firmer shift. It also downshifts earlier on downhills to reduce the amount of braking. It shifts xlnt and just like it did when it was new. BRAKES The rotors are as smooth as glass and not grooved from wear. It stops perfectly straight if the brakes are applied hard from 50 mph with no hands on the steering wheel. STEERING AND SUSPENSION There are no obvious klunks or rattles when going over bumps or small pot holes etc and there is absolutely zero play in the steering wheel. If you move it just 1/4", the vehicle starts turning. OTHER RECENT SERVICE The oil was just changed with Mobil 1 extended life. SECOND GENERATION 2009 5.7 HEMI VS FIRST GENERATION 5.7 HEMI & ENGINE PROBLEMS AND FACTORY UPDATES The first generation Hemi engine (made through 2008) is an xlnt engine and received awards for innovation from several major companies. The second generation Hemi had numerous improvements made to it over the first generation and is a far better engine than the first generation because of it and the 2009 model also won several awards. This being said, as with many new engine designs from any company, there are often unforeseen problems that occur in at least a few of them. These problems are typically minor like leaking intake gaskets etc and are covered under warranty. In the case of the first generation Hemi from Chrysler, the primary problems are slight lifter ticking, slight valve ticking, and valve seat failure. The noises from the lifters and valves was more annoying than it was a performance or reliability problem, however the valve seats failing is a major problem that can, and has caused complete engine failure in many of these engines. There are even some Durangos and other vehicles on Ebay right now with the first generation Hemi engine stating that it had been rebuilt. This being said, the failure rate is still low percentage wise but it is big enough that it prompted some owners on a Dodge forum to star a petition to get Chrysler to warranty their engines. This petition was signed by nearly 1,000 people. Chrysler redesigned many ares of the engine for the 2009 model year. Some of these changes are listed below. 1. Tighter interference fit of the valve seat in the head to greatly reduce the potential for them falling out. 2. Different lifter design to eliminate ticking noise. 3. Tighter clearance between the exhaust valve stem and valve guide to eliminate ticking noise. 4. Variable camshaft timing to increase power and mileage. 5. Increased cylinder head air flow to increase power. 6. Improved intake manifolds on all models with the Durango and a few others receiving a variable runner to increase low end engine power without sacrificing any top end power. 4.7 ENGINE VS 5.7 HEMI ENGINE MILEAGE In comparing the average mileage of many Dodge 4.6 vs 5.7 Hemi engines, the Hemi's got basically the exact same mileage and in some cases got better mileage than the smaller 4.7 engines for the same year. The 2009 and later 5.7 Hemi engines got consistently better mileage than the 2008 and earlier 4.7 engines due to the many improvements made on them in 2009. SHIPPING If you live out of state and need it shipped I can help with that. It costs around $1000.00 to the East coast including Florida and New York. Pick up time is around 3 days and delivery time is around 5 days. It will stay on the same truck until it gets to your front door. I do not use shippers that transfer vehicles from one truck to another. PAYMENT Unlike other Ebay items which cost far less, nearly nobody accepts full payment for a vehicle through Paypal or through a credit card for several reasons and I am no different. Payment balance options are cash, cashiers check, or wire transfer only. Only the deposit of $200.00 ca be paid through paypal. INSPECTION I encourage you to come over and drive it so you can see just how nice it drives. I am available to show it most anytime.
