Vehicle Detail

Description: This is a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda 2-door V8 4-Speed coupe. Exterior: The factory color was Gold with a Black Stripe Interior: Factory Black Engine: Original 273 cid, 2-barrel Transmission: 4-speed Manual with Factory Hurst Shifter Paperwork: Original Build Sheet, original Owner’s Manual, as well as many receipts since new. Odometer: Reads 123,567. The car starts and runs, clutch and transmission operate great. No brakes! History: This car was purchased new in Asheville, North Carolina in 1964, and has been in the same family since new, has never left the state, and was parked in 1985. This is simply a solid southern USA survivor. Drivetrain Original 273cid V8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission and rear end are all original to the car, and have never been removed or rebuilt. The engine runs just fantastic, and doesn’t smoke or burn oil. Just had a fresh oil and filter change, and a tuneup, including all new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor button and points. Exhaust The exhaust is original, muffler has been removed. Body, Chassis and Frame The doors and decklid have been sandblasted and coated in White epoxy primer. All previously rusty areas have been treated with POR-15. The front fenders are brand new fiberglass pieces made in a race-car weight layup, and have not been mounted to the car. The factory floorpans are solid without rust, and the front section floorpan has been treated in POR-15 as well. No repairs to the floor or underbody have been made, as this car was kept under roof since 1985. Most of the exterior trim remains, so these pieces and both bumpers are included in the sale. Cooling System The radiator is original, and is toast. Steering, Suspension and Braking The steering is factory non-power assisted. The front suspension is original. The rear leaf springs have been removed, the factory monocoque frame has been cut and new receivers welded in place to accommodate a modern performance 4-link arrangement. The passenger side wheel well has been cut in preparation for a mini-tub to accommodate wide rear tires. The brakes are all factory 4-wheel drum brakes and currently need rebuilding and are inoperable. Wheels and Tires All (4) steel wheels are the original 13” diameter. All four tires (185/70-13) have full tread, with zero miles on them. Interior The front and rear seats including the original fold-down feature are original and are included in the sale, but have been removed. The original door panels are included with the sale, but have been removed as well. The headliner has been removed and could not be saved. New Black carpet for the front floor is included with the sale. Title I have a clear N.C. title in my name Included in the sale Original steel front fenders, two factory steel hoods, front and rear bumpers, all original lighting and all original interior pieces (seats, door panels, trim panels, etc.) are included with sale.
