NICE 2006 BMW R1150RT P POLICE MOTORCYCLE ONLY 21K MILES This bike was used by the Cathedral City Police near Palm Springs mainly for traffic control at events etc. which is why the mileage is so low. It averages out to around only 180 miles per month for 10 years. It still has the billy club holder, siren holder, radio speaker stalk, front and rear spot lights, radar display, and the very rare rear crash guard. I just replaced the main battery 2 days ago with a brand new AGM (All Glass Mat) battery with 50 more cold cranking amps than the original battery. AGM batteries will also charge faster and last longer than the original BMW battery which was a Gel filled type. Unlike the Honda ST1300 Police bikes that use the same alternator as the non police model and which fails on a regular basis and costs over $1,000.00 to replace, the BMW Police bikes have a heavy duty high output alternator that is not available on the other models. They also have a second (auxiliary) battery that is wired with an isolator so you can run lights directly off that battery without affecting the main battery or alternator whatsoever. The second battery that is in this particular bike now is also a high amp one that is in good condition and still holds a full charge, although I don't know how old it is. In short, you can run all the lights on a float in a local parade all night long without any problem at all with one of these bikes...unless you run out of gas. The tires are high quality Dunlap Sportmax Roadsmart and have around 80% tread left. It runs and drives xlnt. No trades. The price is firm and is well below what others are asking for the same bike and mileage etc. R1150RT R1200RT
