Vehicle Detail

1972 Imperial Lebaron 2 door Survivor, formerly owned by Pro Stock racer Don Grotheer. Recently featured in Mopar Collectors Guide Dec 2017 issue. Has almost all available options including rear A/C, anti-lock brakes, automatic headlamps, auto-temp A/C, floor mount cassette, AM/FM stereo, fender skirts, and more. Very expensive car with $8972 window sticker. Car is complete and in original condition and has no visible rust present. Comes with lots of documentation including window sticker, build sheet, owner's manual, repair receipts, inspection receipts, and more. Original fender tag present. All hard-to-find components are present including anti-lock brake module, rear A/C setup, and auto-temp A/C module. Paint is in good original condition but does have small scratches and dings from being driven daily in its earlier years. Vinyl top re-dyed in black at some point, was originally green. Bumpers and trim in very good shape. Glass including windshield appears to be original to car. Headliner has fallen and will need replacement. Car runs and drives but will need complete inspection before being roadworthy. The A/C, stereo systems, and speedometer are non-operable at this time. Three of the power windows work and the door locks work partially. We acquired this vehicle as a trade-in on a race car. The person trading in to us purchased the car from Don Grotheer. Supposedly, Mr. Grotheer was paid by Chrysler with new vehicles every year in exchange for hosting Drag Racing clinics at Chrysler-Plymouth dealerships in the late 60's and early 70's. His wife would drive the new vehicles, and after having a 71 Hemicuda, she wanted something more luxurious for 1972. The vehicle was driven daily for several years, and then used sparingly until they sold it in the mid 90's. This Imperial 2 door is one of approximately 2300 produced and is probably one of the most optioned vehicles that Chrysler made for the 72 model year.
