Vehicle Detail
This is an unrestored one owner 1971 Honda CB 750 Four motorcycle. Always stored inside, it has been in a climate controlled basement, covered, for about 14 years. This bike was owned by a motorcycle enthusiast who carefully maintained each of his 4 motorcycles until his passing. The bike was kept by the deceased owner’s family as a memento of him and because of its sculptural beauty. However, recently noticing that it is approaching its 50th year since manufacture, the family decided that it is time to let someone else give this motorcycle new life and enjoy it. This motorcycle was cleaned with only distilled water, cotton cloths and q-tips and then kept covered with a cotton spread. Additional parts are an oil cooler, sissy bar and safety bar which was ordered and installed prior to the owner picking up the brand new motorcycle. (See photo of original sales receipt) While you are looking at the sales receipt you will see that the receipt states that the bike is a 1972 but it is a 1971. It was purchased in February of 1972 so the salesperson wrote it up as a 1972 and titled it as such, a commonly made error of this time period. Look at the photo of the manufacture plaque and the manual as well as the motorcycle. The engine is not locked up and it turns freely but has slightly lower compression on the right cylinder, the engine has never been opened up and there is no rust anywhere. It looks as though this bike has never been down. As the original owner considered it unnecessary he removed the starter motor and it was misplaced after his passing. The tank has some rust in it yet can easily be fixed as the metal is in good shape with no leaks. The bike has the original paint. The stripes were gold leafed and you can see the signature of the artist in the “above” photo of the tank. The stock exhaust is in excellent condition, the baffles have been removed. Because of dried up seat foam, the seat needs some attention. The original gauges have the aged patina suitable for a bike of this vintage. I look forward to talking with you about this bike; please call me with any questions. Email is fine but the easiest way is a phone call or text message 540-728-0365 Scott. I am listing for a friend. I met her late husband "Dan" back in 2001-2002 while I was opening our motorcycle shop. He would stop by from time to time and we would swap stories and he was thrilled that a new shop was opening in Roanoke selling MZ's. I remember Dan riding this same bike back then and him telling me stories of where he has ridden it. The black and white photo is from 1974 at Roanoke College. The collage of photos is from 1978-79. The article was written by Dan in the 1990’s. The photos were taken during rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Arcadia, the Jefferson National Forest---and so many roads, so little time.....sigh---in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I can arrange shipping myself, arrange using another shipping company, or you can pick the motorcycle up yourself from our shop. A bike will usually ship from $250.00 to $750.00 depending on where you live in the United States. I can arrange overseas shipping. If needed, all shipping is at buyer's expense.
