This is the most difficult decision I have had to make in quite awhile. For those of you looking at this auction, you know what this bike is. One year only Bonneville in arguably the best color scheme ever offered, 790cc air/oil cooled vertical twin, twin carbs, made in England at the Hinkley factory in October of 2002 after rebuilding from a major fire earlier that year. I had a deposit on one of these bikes in 2002 and missed my chance to get one, and I have been looking for the right bike ever since. This is that bike. Unfortunately, I am older now and due to health issues I am having to admit my motorcycle days are behind me. About this particular machine: Sold new by the famous Baxter Cycle, it remained with the original owner until he traded it back to the dealer this past spring for a touring bike. I snapped it up and shipped it to Texas, where it has remained high and dry in climate controlled storage ever since. All the correct mods have been done - all of the upgrades are OEM Triumph parts and accessories. Air injection system removed and carbs properly rejetted, and Triumph "off-road" mufflers installed. Chrome headlamp brackets, chrome chain guard, chrome cam cover, center stand, seat grab rail, adjustable brake lever, fork gaiters, and black anodized skid plate added. Side reflectors removed for a cleaner look. All removed parts available if you want them and will pay to ship them. New Metzeler tires and tubes in 2014 due to age, not miles. This bike has never been in the rain, tipped over, dropped, or damaged in any way. Not a scratch, ding, or chip anywhere in the beautiful paintwork. Pull the choke and it starts at the touch of a button, warms quickly, and idles perfectly with just enough attitude coming from the TORs. Just a joy to ride and admire in your garage, you will not be disappointed in this Bonneville. Please ask all questions prior to bidding as all sales are final. No trades, please.
