1989 560 SL – Solid Value I acquired this car in 2009 from a local Mercedes reseller with 91,000 miles on it. It currently has 97,000 miles. This is a lifetime Arizona car and I have the dealer service history from 1989-1997. My wife and I have enjoyed this SL as a weekend cruiser, but we have recently decided to downsize the fleet to our daily drivers. It has been driven regularly since purchased in 2009. This car has been garaged year round. I began updating the car shortly after purchase. I had a new convertible top installed in 2009 (the factory hardtop is also included as pictured), new Pirelli tires in 2011 (approximately 5,000 miles ago.) I installed a CD/MP3 capable stereo unit after purchase (I still have the factory tape deck which is pictured) The brakes and shocks have been replaced and I also addressed a coolant leak. As the sub frame needed dropped to fix the coolant leak (from the engine heater port), I took the opportunity to replace various wear parts while it was dismantled. Various, other small repairs were made over the past 8 years, including a new alternator, spark plugs and fuel injectors. This 560 runs well and with some additional investment in the interior (really the only downside to this car), it represents a very solid value for someone looking for a big block Mercedes for further updates/restoration, some weekend fun or even as a daily driver. I will deliver the vehicle, described documentation, keys, a clear and notarized Arizona title and an 'as-is' bill of sale upon receipt and successful negotiation of the full purchase price.
