Vehicle Detail
If you are reading this then you probably don't need the P-1800 history, how many they made, how they go forever or how cool the Saint was in his. I will just give you the history on this one, my third and last due to old age and ill health. I got it about 5 years ago from a guy in VT who got it from a guy in NM. The guy in VT kept it under a pole tent in the winter, snow caused the tent to let go so there a couple small dents that can be pushed out on the roof. He also left it on grassy ground which allowed the front floor pan and 2 front jack supports to rust. Both are available online and not difficult to replace. The guy, maybe his wife also wasn't the best at using a clutch as it was starting to slip when I got it. I have replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing and while the motor was out I wire brushed, sanded, painted and cleaned the motor, parts and compartment as you can see. The pan gasket has been replaced, as have the radiator hoses, heater hoses, fan belt, motor mounts and alternator. The starter is a rebuild (works fine) and the radiator has been pressure tested. Tranny shifts smoothly, including overdrive, and power disc brakes are good. It came with a new set of tires that have hardly been used; it has factory steel rims with chrome outer trim rings and inner "V" cap. The seats are in very good shape but the dash will want covers at some point, the rear hatchback actually closes tight and locks. There are several reputable places online where parts for these cars are available at reasonable prices. In addition to all the parts that come with it, including: air hoses, intake manifold with fuel injection rail (This would be the time to swap to a Webber or Strombergs if you want.), exhaust manifold, console, Volvo gearshift knob, front and side lamps, chrome headlamp rims, visors, air filter, original jack and tool bag. You name it, it's all there and ready to be put on after a nice paint job. The original color is Sea Green (Code 115). At 64 thousand miles the motor is hardly broken in, see inspection sticker and oil change reminder on windshield; numbers match title. All parts were wrapped in plastic and marked bags after cleaning, painting. They are all packed in the back and ready to go to a new home. Located 1 mile from major highway and follows nicely on a 2 wheel dolly. Want more? I am also including a couple extra tire rings, 4 inner chrome V's, radiator (fits automatic or manual), fan, headlight rings, side lenses, front lenses, rear lenses, relays, plus all gauges dash switches and odd bits from a 1972 P-1800 previous project. As you can see on the web, these beauties are holding their value as collectors when taken care of, plus, they are lots of fun to drive. Due to reasons stated at the beginning, I am placing a low reserve; someone is going to be a happy driver. Good luck bidding.
