I bought this car at auction a few months ago, intending to give to my teenage daughter to learn to drive and then to keep after she gets her license. The seller listed as "Runs and Drives," but I didn't realize the car had been sitting for several months. So after I got it delivered, I installed a brand new battery ($135), but the engine stalled. I changed the spark plugs (a first for me!), and it sounds better, but still stalls after starting 2-3 times. I don't want to risk making things worse, so I never try to keep starting it after it stalls a few times. So--- full disclosure-- the car STARTS, but I have not been able to get it to RUN/DRIVE. I personally think there is an issue with the fuel line/pump since it will start but then dies, like it's not getting gas. There is also a tiny oil leak somewhere under the car, but it is very slow b/c the oil level is not low. I had a mechanic friend of a friend look at it - for about 3 minutes, literally - and he was going to see if he could help. But that was weeks ago, and I don't have the patience to keep waiting around, and since I can't drive it, I don't want to have to put more money into having it towed somewhere. I have enough projects going on with getting my kids back in school, open houses, etc. and figured I'd try to sell it to keep from having to put MORE money into it. I am a working single mom and have realized the hard way that I do not have the time to tinker with a car because I know nothing about auto repair!! I've read countless forums online and watched lots of YouTube videos in an attempt to DIY and figure out how to fix it, but I'm chalking this up as a very expensive, but valuable, lesson, and I admit defeat. I'm tired of skipping manicures and getting my hands dirty, and I am ready to have my driveway back!! Why I bought the car in the first place: Clean title. No accidents. SAFE (Front and side airbags). Leather interior looks good, especially for a 10-year old car. No cracks/tears.Moonroof. Power everything. Tinted windows. Owned/titled in the South, so NO SNOW. NO RUST. The A/C blows cold, CD/stereo (with AUX input) sounds good, and the interior and exterior look good/clean with normal wear. Tires look good with LOTS of tread left. If you know how to work on cars, this would be a great project car or investment to resell later.
