NO RESERVE 2004 VW GTI VR6 6-speed. Pocket. Rocket. As someone who loves automobiles, especially fast, good handling ones, the GTI is THE car to own at sometime in your life. This is actually my first one. Hard to believe that being around cars for over 30 years and it took my this long to own a GTI. Sure, I've had all the GTI copy-cats (Colt Turbo, GLH, Jetta VR6, etc), but it lives up to the hype. I've driven this more than my 911 Turbo in the past month. Quick, agile, economical, and frankly comfortable and easy to drive. This one is an excellent example of the GTI lore. VR6 engine and 6-speed transmission. Add in the sport leather bucket seats and you will see why the GTI is loved so much. This is a very well preserved version, loaded with options such as sunroof, leather bucket seats, heated seats, Monsoon stereo with cassette (for those of us who have not thrown them away yet) and CD player, power mirrors, locks, windows, cruise, etc. Everything you would expect. This is one of the GTIs to own, built before VW started to put cheap plastic in the engines that cause high failure rate. It appears to be well maintained. The EXTERIOR of the car I would rate as AVERAGE for the year and miles. Car is clean on the exterior, essentially free of dents and dings (one minor one on passenger side and a minor dime sized ding on the hood of the car). Paint still shines up nice. It is free of flaws, though the pinstripe along the sides has seen better days. Body panels all line up, wheels are free of major scuffs or rash, and tires have about 70%+ tread remaining. Lights all work as they should and the minor tint on the windows gives it a nice look. The INTERIOR of the car I would rate as AVERAGE for the the year and miles. With the aggressive side bolsters on this car, you would expect them to be worn out or at least starting to show more age. Both the driver and passenger side are in excellent shape. Full factory floor mats are in place and in good shape with the exception of the drivers side which is showing some wear, typical of the age. No dash cracks and the rear seats look to hardly been sat in. All the accessories work in the car with ice cold a/c, hot heat, thumping stereo, cruise works, windows, etc. This interior is actually well above average in condition, but for a couple minor things. First, the rear windshield wiper is not working. It is missing the manuals. Overall, very nice though. It also comes with full set of two keys/fobs with valet key as well. Spare and tools are in the trunk and appears complete. Overall, I rate this car to be ABOVE AVERAGE for the age and miles. Its appears all of the owners have taken care of the car and maintained. No check engine lights are on and only modification I have found is the cold air intake replacement. CarFax report is showing no accidents. I have personally been driving this car for nearly 500 miles and cannot find anything wrong with the vehicle. Put more bluntly, it is my favorite car I have in stock at the moment, so miles are likely to continue to go up as I am driving this most days. I have attempted to describe this car with all good and bad that is currently known on the car. Since this is a pre-owned automobile and the age of it, it is being sold "AS-IS" with all faults known or unknown or may happen later. I drive all of our cars for at least a week prior to listing them for sale to determine any and all issues and describe them as I would want it described to me if I was the buyer.
