Vehicle Detail
Pease do not bid if you do not have the funds to pay. I purchased this Toyota Land Cruiser (TLC) for my vacation home in Joshua Tree, California in 2010. After looking at more than fifteen TLCs, I settled for this one, from father and son firefighters, who owned TLCs for over 30 years. The 2F engine and four speed transmission upgraded from a rolled 1978. They installed new a heavy duty clutch, pressure plate, Man A Fre header and exhaust system, Man A Fre 4" lift, Specter carpet kit/seat recover kit, rhino lined rear cargo area. I was impressed with their work and the condition of the vehicle. The son was selling it because he wanted a Airstream so he could take his girlfriend camping in something bigger than a tent.High maintenance, my luck.Father, not so happy to see it go.I have put just under 5,000 miles on this vehicle since purchasing in 2010. Items I had installed professionally: -Rear disc brakes -Front bumper from Cool Cruisers of Texas, with XRC 10,000 lb winch. -Dual battery setup with isolater -Rebuilt steering box -Rebuilt wiper motor -Rear bumper from Man A Fre. Cooler, gas can, high lift jack and tire carrier -Specter locking dash box -Rebuilt rear end -Garvin wilderness rack -New speedometer cable -New weather stripping and felt for roll up window -Five 15 x 8 Pro Comp steel wheels -Five Goodyear Kevlar 33 x 12.50 tires. Two (new) rear tires less than 100 miles, three remaining tires have 80% tread left. -New turn signals with turn signal switch -Pioneer AM/FM CD with Power Sports speakers -Custom rear cargo cover/ new headliner/ new sunvisors -Recent tuneup and oil change with rebuilt carburetor and one new battery. Other battery 18 months old. New Crow 2" seat belts, new gas/ water cans. All the major work was done by Jim Dickey, a well known TLC specialist in Carson California. I have over $5000 in receipts from him alone. There is a little bit of the usual rust under the tailgate. Could use new rubber door seals .Small hole for cb antenna on drivers side. The rest of the body is rust free.Original blue paint. The white paint on the roof is peeling. The needle on the speedometer fell off and the right turn signal recently stopped working. This is a strong rig that never let me down. Does not leak oil and has never overheated. Light off road use in Joshua Tree National Park. Never abused. My only regret is that I did not install aftermarket power steering. There are a lot more new parts that are not listed. We are selling the TLC as we recently purchased a new Jeep Rubicon. The reserve price is way below what I have into it. I am sure there are things I neglected to mention.Current registation, clear title in hand. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The TLC is currently at our home in Rancho Palos Verdes. Can arrange to show if our schedules allow. Can also assist in shipping.
