YES, the six-digit odometer still works and the mileage is believed to be accurate and true. This beautiful four seat C107 chassis coupe is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine mated to the factory 3-speed automatic transmission. This nearly forty year-old Benz features electric sunroof and windows, wind deflector, chromed factory alloy wheels, chrome fender trim, fog lamps, air conditioning, updated cd stereo with working factory electric antenna and is being sold with clear ORIGINAL SMALL "PINK SLIP" TITLE, factory books with service stamps, original keys and more. This is a great find for the Benz collector or for someone who wants a cool sunny day cruiser for less than the cost of the sales tax alone on a new quickly depreciating Benz. THE BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this car is in very good to excellent, well-preserved condition overall. The paint sports a deep gleaming finish with nice original trim. Imperfections include spitting on the chrome wheels, one small isolated corrosion bubble at the bottom of rear window along with various minor nicks, scratches and other light blemishes. This is still one very handsome classic specimen of a rare coupe. THE INTERIOR The interior of this 1979 Benz is in very good to excellent condition overall with almost perfectly crack-free dash, working odometer and other gauges, nice cd stereo, working windows and sunroof, horn lights and blinkers. It also sports nice rear window louvers, excellent upholstery and wood trim, nice uncut door panels and even the rear deck panel is in great shape. AND......this car looks to still hold the original spare tire in the rear boot. The a/c is not currently blowing cold and I have not yet had it diagnosed. Overall this is still one very nice cockpit that is quite representative of a low mileage classic. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This classic Buick starts well BUT has a weak engine that needs rebuilding or replacement. It is low on power, blows lots of smoke out the tailpipe and has timing chain noise, It drives down the road very solid and smooth with nice shifting transmission, supple and quiet suspension, solid straight braking and an overall comfortable driving experience.
