After much thought and another bike purchase, my BMW R80RT and I are parting ways. I purchased this bike several years ago with approximately 36,000 miles and completely refurbished it. I enjoyed the bike immensely and really had fun rebuilding as the third owner. Everything works and it runs great. Ready for riding season. Yes....head turner! The paint is new and in the original color, new decals. Has a gel cell battery. The transmission was rebuilt after I found shavings on the magnet and now all has been clear for about 10,000 miles. New rear engine seals, rebuilt carburetors, rebuilt forks and rear end seals replaced. Brake pads replaced about 10,000 miles ago. Tires have another two-three seasons depending upon usage. I will also provide a Clymer manual, the exhaust tool and a few other tools specific to the airhead bike maintenance. Yes it comes with the famous BMW toolkit. The only mentions are, like all other airheads it weeps a little oil around the tube seals. I never notice any level drop on the dipstick so it is minor. It has a light speedo needle vibration which is also a common issue. The front snowflake rim was replaced under warranty/recall, the rear rim is original, with typical greenish tint and has some wear. The cases are refurbished, in good shape with new BMW logo plates and I repaired the typical top "cracks" (if you can even tell). Being honest...it is not perfect with great character. I kept the engine patina intentionally- so cool! Cannot ship this bike until April 10 due to a vacation. Please note, I may add up to 60 miles to the existing ODO reading to say my goodbye.
