Vehicle Detail

1965 Chevrolet Impala SS. 327 v-8 84,000 miles, Powerglide, Original SS survivor car. Rare (1) year only Evening Orchid Paint code. So here is the story:I purchased the car in 2007 from the son of the owner who purchased it in 1965, with the intentions of making it a father and sons's project. Unfortunately plans in life have changed and is not a priority at this time, and hopefully someone can make it a fun part of their life! Over time I have acquired many parts for a car prior to owning this one, that I kept, that come with this car. Hubcaps, 14" tires, and rims, trim, lenses, T-3 headlights, bumpers, quarter extensions, lenses, doors, weatherstrip for doors, etc...... Oh yeah a gallon of primer and acrylic lacquer, which I had intentions for repairs to the body. For a car that is 52 years old, the car runs excellent, does have a few dry gaskets and drives well. This car hasn't been neglected, abused or hacked up. The car was covered and kept in my garage as well as owner before me. He had his local mechanic look after it. As we all know, the number 1 issue all of these cars had was a poorly designed rear window seal which rusted almost all the trunk panels. Not this one! Mr M noticed the leak back I guess in the 60's and had it corrected. This trunk is mint. Considering where it spent its entire life, here in New York, this car I believe is great! There is no frame rot, and the floor pans are not rotted. The only issues concerning the body which I think need attention as the photos show are minimal, lower front fender, front rear lower quarter panel and corner rear quarter where Mr M, from what his son told me scraped the garage door backing out. Of course there are other dings, chips and imperfections that are visible, and if you are looking for a car without these, best of luck in your search! The car retains almost all of its original parts. There are some things, that were replaced such as the radiator, old one needs a re core but in box. A new battery as well as the Corvette 15" Rally wheels with BFG radial T/A tires. There is so much I could say about what my plans were for this car, but all I hope is someone drive it, enjoy it, and to love it!. Check out Hagerty value guide, and you can see for yourself how classic cars are priced, according to a legitimate company that insures at a very reasonable price equal to what you invest in your car, and specializes in the true value of a classic car such as this. Remember its a Real Supersport, not a clone, and was not abused over its lifetime of ownership! You can call me, Robert at a reasonable time up until 8pm EST at 516 286-7829 for further info or to come take a look. Thanks for looking, bidding and Good Luck!
