Vehicle Detail
2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0 liter 6 cylinder, Automatic with 59,635 miles ONLY 22,263 miles on a brand new Chrysler Jeep 4.0 L engine Two owner Wrangler Sport that we purchased 8 years ago from an older adult family friend. We had vandalism in Colorado Springs and the engine was replaced by Faricy Brothers Chrysler in Colorado Springs, CO at 37,372 miles with a new Chrysler engine. I have the receipt from Faricy for $5,762.25 dated May 6, 2008 with the VIN number of this Jeep. Features: Automatic transmission with overdrive, hard top with wiper and heated rear glass, Air Conditioning, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, tilt steering, speaker bar with lights, factory fog lights, factory console, aftermarket tow bar (CL III receiver), 8,000 pound winch, Warn Winch Plate, Wilderness Cargo Rack, Smittybuilt front bar (bumper), Husky floor liners, in dash AM/FM single disc CD player. I also have the receipt for the XRC winch, Warn winch plate, and the front push bar ($692.24). I added the Wilderness Rack which is $1,025.95. I can’t find that receipt but you can go to http://wildernessracks.com to see the price. This Jeep comes with an additional set of 5 matching factory Jeep alloy rims with tires. Tires are Goodyear Wranglers mounted on the stock alloy Jeep rims that came with this Jeep. I can send a photo of these 5 rims and tires. The 31 inch tires and rims shown in the photos are used as our winter tires. The engine is 100% factory. The only modification I made was to add a block heater so the interior heat is warm instantly when used in the winter. This Jeep was garage kept 90 to 95% of its life and still is now. Please compare this well maintained, adult driven, non-smoker Jeep to others on the market. Here is a summary of main costs and accessories added since I purchased it: $5,762.25 New Chrysler 4.0 L 6 Cylinder engine $1,025.95 Wilderness Rack $ 692.24 8,000 pound winch, Warn plate and Smittybuilt push bar (bumper) $ 69.00 Husky Floor Liners $ 400.00 Additional set of rims and tires (underestimated for mileage) ____________________________________________________________ $7,949.44 Total Mechanical Condition: 4WD High and Low ranges work exceptionally well - no issues. The transmission shifts solidly, no slipping, all works as it should. There is an “overdrive off” switch on the dash - it works. You can prevent the overdrive gear from engaging if you want extra power for passing. The winch was used 3 to 4 times to pull other people out of snow. The Jeep drives straight down the road. Winch remote control works and the winch wire rope is in excellent, like new condition - no fraying. Head lights, fog lights, turn signals, interior lights, cruise control, Air Conditioning, heat, stereo, tilt steering, all works as it should. The 31 inch all season tires have about 80% tread life left. Body Condition: The undercarriage is in excellent condition! See the two photos of the underbody. There is no undercoating to hide issues. The gravel panel underneath is free of dings - this Jeep has not been used off-road. Body rubber mounts are pliable. The paint has numerous flaws (see below). Factory bottle jack and lug wrench are present under the passenger’s seat. The gas shocks on the hard top back glass are newer - top says up even in cold weather. Interior Condition: No tears, rips or even rubs on the seat fabric. Driver’s door panel has a crack. Passenger panel has no cracks. Carpet has stains. Both front Husky mats are included but in one photo it is removed to see the carpet condition underneath. Summer Tires and Rims: Set of 5 matching Jeep rims. These are upgraded alloy rims. They have 5 large spokes with the typical Jeep silver center cap. The rims are dark grey with the alloy edge of the rim nearest the tire silver polished (unpainted). The rims themselves are in excellent condition as they have been either stored indoors or have been on the Jeep which is garaged. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler GSA with outlined white letters size 225/75R15. They are standard load, 4 ply tread, Treadwear 340, Traction A, Temperature B and have about 50% life remaining. One of the tires is flat and is not repairable due to a puncture close to the sidewall. Flaws: - The windshield is cracked but on Tuesday, February 21st I will have a brand new one installed ($285.00 plus tax). I will also change the oil so it is fresh and ready to drive anywhere. 1. Paint: The previous owner towed this Jeep behind a motorhome and the front grille, windshield surround and the front edge of the hood has numerous chips and paint flaws (see photos). The flat (horizontal) part of the hood also has a few chips or imperfections and two dents. The two dents are from ice falling off of my home roof and landing on the Jeep when parked below. One dent is above the driver’s side headlight (see photo) and the other is a much smaller, ding sized dent on the passenger side of the hood on the edge where it raises in the middle. The back tail gate door also has scratches above the license plate area where the dealership badge was removed. 2. This Jeep was originally equipped with a soft top. The hard top does have a rear wiper, windshield sprayer and heated glass but it is not hooked up to the dash. The hard top portion of wiring harness is present but the harness from the hard top to the front and including a switch would need to be added. This part is available through Chrysler and possibly through aftermarket sources. 3. The fender flair paint is poor. For some reason the flair paint has worn badly. The solution is to either have them repainted or to order aftermarket black flares. The color is Shale Green Metallic (paint code PGR) and you can order paint from http://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/jeep/2004/wrangler/ 4. There is a small exterior body rust spot on the passenger side just below the door (see photo). 5. The driver’s side door panel has a crack (1 ¼ inches) on the top just to the right of the door handle (see photo). 6. Both door seals have rips in the same place - just behind the center, rear area of the door windows. I believe the hard top needs moved back about 1/8 inch to allow more room between the edge of the door seal area and the edge of the hard top to prevent new seals from tearing. Door seals are $40.50 each from http://www.quadratec.com/products/912303_13.htm?gclid=CIjvm77QndICFZKKaQodt6YHAQ 7. The hard top has four small holes (1/8 inch) that were filled. When I bought the Jeep it had a roof rack bolted to the top. I removed the bolts, filled the holes with JB weld (see photo) and added the Wilderness Rack which is bolted to the front windshield frame and to the rear area. This frame does swing down easily toward the rear in order to remove the hard top or to change it over to a soft top. 8. There are minor carpet stains. This is the original carpet. 9. The factory stereo fader knob cover is missing. This is a tiny plastic knob that is just below the balance knob that is present. 10. One tire on the additional set of factory Goodyear Wranglers (the spare tire) not pictured is flat and is not repairable. The other four tires are all good with about 50% tread.Specifications: This Jeep was built in January 2004. EPA Estimated MPG is 17 mpg combined (16 city and 19 highway). See https://www.edmunds.com/jeep/wrangler/2004/ Maximum payload is 800 pounds and maximum towing capability is 2,000 pounds. The Sport was the middle package - above the SE and below the Sahara. The 4.0 L 6 cylinder is rated at 190 horsepower at 4,600 rpm and 245 foot pounds of torque at 3,200 rpm. Overall consumer satisfaction rating is 4.5 out of 5 according to Edmunds.History: I purchased this Jeep from the original owner in Seminole, Florida. I moved it to Colorado Springs, Colorado and drove it for about 1 1/2 years. I then moved it to Ouray, Colorado and only used it sparingly for about 5 years until moving to Ouray permanently two years ago. It has not been driven in the winter in states that use salt on their roads. If you have any questions, please contact me prior to bidding. I have additional photos so if there is something you want to see closer contact me. If you want to test drive the Jeep contact me. Don’t bid unless you are financially able to purchase this Jeep. Title is CLEAR in my name. I have set a very competitive and reasonable reserve, please don’t ask for it in fairness to all potential bidders. I have set a reasonable BIN in order to entice someone to purchase it immediately. NO SURPRISES. LOOK AT MY 100% FEEDBACK. I pride myself in offering accurate descriptions. Note: This Jeep will have about 100 or so more miles on it due to taking it Montrose, CO to replace the windshield and to use in town over the next week.Occasionally bidders may want to know why a vehicle is for sale. I am moving out of the State of Colorado to a warmer climate area and I have the Jeep, a sedan and a pickup. As the Jeep is my winter vehicle it won't be necessary to have as it is on the Western Slope of the Rockies. On Feb-24-17 at 16:40:35 PST, seller added the following information: Brand new windshield and windshield gasket installed.
