Vehicle Detail

This is a 1972 mustang convertible. 6cyl, auto. I got the car on a trade. I don't know much about the history, but i do know it has been sitting inside a non climate controlled building for the last 14 years. It's mostly complete, probably missing a few bits here and there. The console, and interior parts are in the trunk. The car is fairly solid for the age. It needs a driver side floor pan, and the passenger side needs at least a patch. Trunk and quarters are solid from what i can tell. Has a fair amount of rust, but nothing that cant be fixed. Subframe sections look solid. The doors sag and either need hinges or bushings. It has a power top that i was told was in working order when parked. The top is actually in great shape. It has one 3/4" tear in a flat spot beside the rear window. The rear window, being plastic, is a bit cloudy. The rest of the glass is in good condition. I have not attempted to operate the top. I have not attempted to start the engine either. I know it will run, it turns freely by hand and has compression. The carb linkage is frozen and I'm sure the fuel system is in need of repair. I was told it was driven into the building and moved on its own power 14 years ago. The brakes are drum, drum non power and are non operational. You can expect a full restoration to get it going again. That said there were only 6000ish convertible mustangs made in 72. Being a 6cyl car i think it would make an excellent convertible mach 1 clone or go all out and coyote swap it and build a nice resto mod. Either way Its a great starting point. Im a Chevy guy and just don't think id have any fun fixing her up, so id like to pass her on to someone who will. If you need any more pictures of specific things just ask and ill get the sent asap.I've got a clear VA , that's the important part. I can deliver it to the nearest town, approximately 10 miles to meet you or a shipper, but I won't haul it any further. My schedule won't allow it. You will have to arrange shipping or pick up. Payment due within 7 days of auction end. I'm OK with PayPal IF you add the 3% fee, otherwise cash on pickup, or certified bank check mailed ahead of time. Title and car will not be released until payment is received and/or check has cleared. Usually 7-14 days. Revision #1: had a few questions about the torque boxes and frame rails. I'm not real familiar with the mustang chassis, but from what i was able to learn in a limited amount of time on a few forums they seem pretty solid. I've uploaded a few pics more of the underside and rust areas. I do have all of the keys, and i have the plastic front grill and headlight trim. The grill is broken in a few spots and missing the mustang emblem. I've also been asked a lot about ending the item early or a buy it now. Sorry, I will let the auction run to its completion, who ever is the high bidder will own it!
