Vehicle Detail

So this vehicle has been a good family vehicle for me for several years now. I recently inherited a smaller SUV and my kids are getting older (no need for huge car seats) so this one gets to be sold off. This Navigator has all the bells and whistles you could want for someone with a growing family, so much peace and quiet on those long road trips and plenty of space inside. DVD player with headphones (2 sets included, Amazon has inexpensive universal headphones if you have more than 2 kids!). Not a lot of city miles on this vehicle as it has primarily been our road trip vehicle. Can tow up to 9000 lbs, towed my father-in-law's 19 ft Wellcraft with no problems. Now the good stuff: Heads machined and surfaced Head gaskets replaced Intake manifold gaskets replaced Timing chain tensioners replaced Oil filter gasket replaced Oil pan gasket replaced Spark Plugs and 2 coils replaced 4 newish Pirelli Scorpion tires (replaced last year, not a lot of miles put on them yet) Fuel pressure regulator replaced Removed stiff air bag suspension and replaced with regular coils. Tire pressure sensor replaced in driver side rear tire when tires were put on. Front brake pads replaced 6 months ago (easiest pads I have ever replaced hands down. If you can do basic maintenance on a vehicle, this is a job you can do) This is not a 3 valve Ford vehicle, therefore you don't ever have to worry about a mechanic snapping off the plugs when trying to replace them and  then getting charged a boatload to get the broken plugs out. Obviously if you know anything about cars, this is a decent chunk of change worth of work done to this thing and it shouldn't need this stuff done again for a long time. Now, the bad stuff (in the essence of complete transparency): Check engine light will come on (just started recently). It is telling me misfire on cylinder 4, not sure what is going on with that. It's possible that the gasket got pinched when they put the heads back on so that gasket may need replaced.. There is a rust hole forming under the passenger rear door. I have meant to grind off the rust and weld a new piece of metal on there, but never got around to it. Due to perspective in the picture, it looks gigantic, but it really isn't that large, maybe 10" x 3" Paint is bubbling on the back hatch (as is typical for 90% of the Explorers and Gators of this model year). I did the ten minute fix on the left side when I first got the vehicle (you can see it in the picture) but just left the rest alone since the paint wasn't actively chipping off. Should be a relatively low cost fix to slap some bondo on it and repaint it for any body shop if it bothers you. Volume knob on stereo is broken. You try to turn the music down and it just cranks it up. Just use the volume keys on the steering wheel, works perfectly fine. I am only including this because I know how much my ears were ringing when it first did that a couple months ago and don't want anyone else to experience that. Tire pressure sensor dead in the rear passenger tire. I'll edit the description if anything else comes to mind, but you can obviously see it has had a lot of work and care put into it but still needs a little bit of love, therefore I have set the reserve well under KBB value to account for repairs that will need to be done. Local pickup only unless you arrange shipping with a 3rd party. Vehicle is also listed locally on Craigslist, so I reserve the right to cancel at any time. Good luck and happy bidding!
