Best, Tom P.2009 MINI COOPER S “JOHN COOPER WORKS” --Pure Silver Metallic, Black Lounge Leather with white piping, Full Works 'GP' bodykit including Carbon Fibre rear wing and body trim, One celebrity owner, 27,000 miles from new, professionally engineered aftermarket performance enhancements Purchased new by celebrity Ice Hockey player Alexei Kovalev, this Mini Cooper S is one of a handful of rare and limited edition 'John Cooper Works' examples sold in the USA and is without question the highest specification Mini Cooper we have ever encountered. Finished in Pure Silver Metallic coachwork with a Black Panoramic glass sunroof, this manual 6 speed example was ordered new with the GP bodykit and in addition, has carbon fibre hood scoop, carbon fibre JCW rear wing, carbon fibre trunk trim and carbon fibre diffuser. Shortly after Mr Kovalev took delivery of his then new Mini, he entrusted the car to a highly regarded tuning specialist in Montreal, Canada, well known for their fabrication, preparation and servicing of exotics and race cars. His direction was to give the Mini even more power over the standard 220bhp yet to remain tractable and docile in normal driving conditions, but exhilarating when the chance of an open twisty road appeared ahead. An enlarged intercooler was fitted with 90% increased capacity over stock, an 'M7 AGS-R' cold air intake high-flow air filter was fitted along with a new Garrett Turbo with custom made T2870 turbine, new custom made down pipe with high flow cat to fit new turbo, Custom made stainless steel exhaust system, Access port with custom map by Chris Perrin of Perrin Performance and increased capacity of boost piping and tubing with high quality clamps. The end result means the Mini develops a genuine 300 horsepower at the flywheel and 290 lb-ft of torque, both safely and reliably. The John Cooper Works suspension setup copes extremely well with the enhanced power and is incredibly taut, agile and makes for a very capable highway cruiser. As well as the mechanical modifications, this Mini is fitted with a custom electronics system which include a Kenwood stereo, amplifier, video and integrated sat Nav and a Valentine One radar system built into the rearview mirror. The 18'' alloy wheels are from Sparco and custom kick plates with the previous owners initials AK27 (Alexei Kovalev). This iconic Mini Cooper S 'JCW' not only benefits from being lovingly maintained regardless of expense by its one previous celebrity owner, but is also an very exhilarating road car which will guarantee to bring a huge smile on the face of anyone who drives her.
