Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback! A 1967 Mustang Fastback is one of the most desired Mustangs ever! Now is your chance to own one! This GT fastback came with a 4bbl 289 engine and manual transmission. Its original color is one of the most beautiful colors ever to leave the factory, Clearwater Aqua. I was in the process of restoring this car to completion, but just don't have the time. My loss is your gain. To top it off, this car is a factory GT. It also had the extra cooling package, Exterior Décor group, console, and Convenience control panel. This car is nicely optioned and built to go fast in style! The GT Equipment Group included the grille mounted fog lamps, power front disc brakes, GT gas cap, F70x14 tires, handling package, rocker panel stripes, and GT emblems. The body of the car is in very good condition and ready for you to pick up where I left off. The car was in very good condition before I started to work on it. I had the car sandblasted, inside and out. I replaced the floorpan with brand new, complete floorpan. I also installed a new battery apron and radiator support. The rear quarters are original, only on the passenger side, did I have to install a lower quarter section. Upon receiving the car from the sandblaster, it was primed inside, underneath and out (grey primer outside, black primer inside, under, and engine bay). A first pass of bodywork has been done around the car. The cowls are in good condition. The doors, fenders, and trunk are all in good condition. The hood is brand new. The frame rails are in good condition! This car is ready to be finished! I had the opportunity to get a correctly dated engine a few months ago, so that is included as well. The block is a 7A27 (January 27, 1967). It is standard bore (4.00”). The crankshaft is a “1M” crankshaft, an original 289 crankshaft. The heads are C6AE heads, one has a date code of 6H20 and the other is 6H22. They have rocker arms, valves and springs. Also, are included is a bellhousing, ready for the manual transmission of your choosing and an original oil pan. The interior is fairly complete with most of the hard to find, expensive parts. Its 1967 instrument panel is there. A set of front seats are included, though they are out of a 1968. The back seat and rear seat platform are also included. There is a set of interior fiberglass quarter panels that might be useable. The original style 1967 disk brake spindles are installed up front, along with all the steering linkage. You should plan on rebuilding steering and brakes. A used brake booster is included, which can help offset some core charges (around $275) All glass is present and in good, useable condition, with the exception of the windshield (which can be purchased new for around $100). The rear window has the “line” down the middle. These are getting harder and harder to find! All the glass is original and has some scratches as you would expect from 50 years of use. The front window moldings are included. As far as extras, please see the pictures. There are: -Instrument cluster (not shown but included) -shock tower to cowl supports -glove box and insert -ashtray -heater box (I have a motor and squirrel cage that will be included) -hood latch support -master cylinder and original distribution block -motor mount to frame brackets -horns -headlight and underdash wiring harnesses (out of a GT coupe) -taillamp housings -wiper motor and linkage -steering column housing -clutch and brake pedal assembly are included, but the support has been previously repaired. Fully restored, this GT could bring well over $50k. Starting with a straight body is key. The last picture is what this beautiful classic would look like when properly restored. A brand new Dynacorn body with no vin or credentials goes for less than the Buy it Now price of this car. Dynacorn bodies now sell for $18,500! All the rust repair and hard work is done. Now is your chance to own an original GT! I have a Marti report and clean Arizona title from the previous owner. The vin is clearly stamped on the driver’s side apron and the buck tag is attached. The door tag is long gone, but these can be purchased new. I'm sure I missed something. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me before the end of the auction. I tried to address all aspects of the car, if any additional pictures are needed, I would be glad to send them to you. I have restored a lot of Mustangs over the last 10 years. If you have any questions about restoring this car, please let me know. Also, we are a dealer for Scott Drake and can help the buyer get some remaining parts at a discount. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
