Offered is my PRISTINE 1982 Suzuki GS1000SZ Katana. This bike is one of the finest in the country. The bike started life as a 4,000 original mile bike that had sat for 30 years untouched. The second owner was an older man in PA who did not complete the restoration, but had added some nice aftermarket parts ($) like CR carbs, yosh pipe, Fox shocks, etc. I bought the bike for $8400 (as it was unfinished) and sent it to John Wilson at Akron GS Works and contracted him to do a frame-up restoration and re-install the original carbs, airbox, exhaust, etc. John did an amazing job and the bike is a 9.9 out of 10 flawless and in as-new condition. Small imperfections are shown on original seat and steering head from keys. John and his team did not skip any part or system. Engine was compression tested and inspected (perfect), and new/upgraded parts like clutch, charging system, new tires, etc. No expense was spared. During the restoration and re-assembly the bike became known as "The Dali Lama". I paid $7648 for the restoration work and so I have $16,048 invested in this bike. I am not looking to get all my money back as this bike was intended to be in my permanent collection. The bike has been ridden recently and every single part and system works as new. Ignition on, choke dial turned, thumb the starter button and she starts immediately and is in perfect tune. The gas tank is without any corrosion beautiful, carbs were cleaned and synched, The cool looking choke dial works perfectly (rare on these vintage bikes) and after 15 seconds, she settles into a perfect idle. This bike is ready to ride across town or across the country. Non-OEM parts are the ss brake lines and new KM gauge pod (speedo on the 1982 models only goes to 80). Bike comes with rear pit bull stand, two sets of keys for ignition, tail section/seat, and helmet holder. Authentication of all work with receipts. Bike is perfect for a collection or to ride.
