Vehicle Detail
Appears to be an original 60,000 mile car, but I have no way to verify that other than the previous owner discussion. Previous owner bought it brand new, I had to turn in the original 1972 Oregon vehicle title to my DMV. It's in very good condition, needing no rust repair of any sort. It just came out of 16 years of garage storage, buffed it out and it looks and drives great. I put new tires/wheels on it and have been driving it around. Seats have some slight tears that need fixed. They are very comfortable. I replaced the front seat belts with non-vw seatbelts off Ebay, the originals are still with the car but in rough condition. The rear seat that is in it is not original to the car and doesn't fit quite right. Previous owner said he resprayed the paint himself twice over the years, it appears from patina that the original color was blue. Indications are that the hood was replaced at some point and was originally VW Orange. Doors open and close beautifully, like brand new. Top frame is there and moves but definitely needs rehab. No canvas for convertible top. I have a gallery of more photos showing the pan and body in better detail, send me a request and I'll send it to you. Needs: rear brake lines Quirks: Right rear turn signal not working, clutch may be slightly out of adjustment as there is a bit of a jolt when shifting. There is a bit of a wobble at the 35-40 MPH range, so some front suspension pieces may need service/replacement Other than that, one pump on the gas before you start it to engage the choke and you're off and running. No problem keeping up with city traffic, I haven't taken it out on the freeway yet.On Sep-28-16 at 10:08:27 PDT, seller added the following information: It does need a new windshield.
