1980 Rabbit Diesel Deluxe aka "Lola Bunny"1.5 Diesel with 141,268 miles4 speedDeluxe Package: Westy grille with chrome trim, vinyl/cloth seats with head rests, wood grain interior trim. My story with this rabbit began when I pulled this car from Northern California earlier this year. I have driven on the streets and freeway just fine. I was told by the PO that the car came from Idaho. This car was assembled at the Westmoreland Pennsylvania VW Plant, in January of 1980. Since rescuing it I have replaced/installed:-a rebuilt 1.5 Diesel motor with a rebuilt fuel pump-Air Filter-Fuel Filter-Ignition Starter-Radiator-Expansion Tank-Coolant flush-Upper radiator hose-Sachs clutch-Oil Changes -Oil Pressure Switch-Temperature Sending Unit-Fan Switch (located under the choke)-Deluxe Grille This rabbit was quite dirty when I found it. I have cleaned the dash and seats. The peanut butter interior is not perfect, but in good shape and almost complete. Comes with a Scirocco steering wheel, and a Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth (connected to the speakers on the doors and 2 speakers mounted under the rear speaker trays in the trunk). Headliner in great condition. Do not expect to get here going 80mph, but you will get a comfy 67. With the things that I have replaced, it is not that slow for a 1.5D. Temperature will stay cool, have never seen it go above half way. Smog exempt. It is a fun driving this. Areas I'd like to point out:-sometimes when turning the key, it does not crank (probably a loose wire). Eventually turns on fine-clutch is new, but needs to be broken in-driver door does not open from the outside (PO said that he removed the door panel twice and fixed the door mechanism and was able to open and lock from the outside just fine; I have not made any attempts to do it)-odometer stopped working at 141,268 miles; Speedometer, clock, fuel and temp. gauges work great-small rust areas; nothing serious or structural-dash has usual cracks-needs a bit of TLC, nothing major With the sale I will include the following extras:-rear parcel tray (better shape than the one in pictures)-window latches -miscellaneous interior pieces that I have gathered Clean California title in my name, tags up to date.
