1979 Pontiac Trans am, built Oldsmobile 403 Cid engine, turbo 400 transmission with B&M ratchet shifter with manual valve body. Engine does not smoke when started cold, or when at operating temperature. Does not burn oil. Car runs cool, and has no overheating issues. Engine has no ticking or knocking noise of any kind, just an extremely healthy lope at idle. The automatic transmission does not slip and shifts firm. The car drives straight down the road with no excessive play in the steering wheel, it also brakes straight and fast. The emergency brake even works! It is a factory cruise control car, but I have never tested it. Super straight body with beautiful wine (red) colored paint. Most of paint is in nice condition, with some spots of clearcoat fading. Body gaps appear good, hood springs are a little tired. Doors and trunk shut easily and solidly. Tires are in excellent condition with at least 80% tread depth, and traction bars are visible for that ultra cool 70's look. I have looked over the vehicle very closely, and have found no rust with the exception of one small spot at the rear of the driver's side rocker panel. Trunk is dry and rust free.T-tops in very nice condition as well. Camel colored Interior is presentable, but could use restoration. All gauges seem to be operational and accurate, including speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, voltage, fuel level and temperature. The instrument panel clock seems to be inoperable. Interior dash lights work well, as do the headlights, taillights, running lights and blinkers. Nice stereo with CD player too. Power door locks and power windows operate as they should, as do the windshield wipers. All glass is good, and the car is very fast and reliable. Excellent driver condition or a very nice candidate for an easy full restoration. New paint job and some seat covers and you could have a show winner! Please email with any questions.
