It is time for Matilda to go to a new home where she can be driven and enjoyed by a new family. This Sunbeam has had 2 previous owners before I purchased the car about 3 years ago. The original owner purchased this car at McGuiness Auto Imports in 1967 and drove it directly to a place called Rusty Jones and had the car fully undercoated. This probably saved this car because British cars were known to rust. This car is solid as a rock. The second owner was a very nice British gentleman who purchased this car from the original owner back in 1980 as an anniversary gift for his wife. They enjoyed the car for well over 30 years and took excellent care of it. Health issues came into play and the decision was made to sell the car. I got to know the previous owner pretty well through the sunbeam alpine club of america and this is how we eventually made our deal.The car is very original and what sets this car apart from any other you may be looking at is the fact that all the mechanicals have either been rebuilt or replaced, the car needs nothing but cosmetic improvements if you are so inclined. I have all the ventilation connected, new fan, so their is heat in the winter. Mechanical work completed on the car:Engine rebuilt New pistons, rings, valves, camshaft, harmonic balance to name a few of the parts. The work to be completed to take this car to the next level is primarily all cosmetic. The turn signals and all gauges work with the exception of the amp meter. The car has the standard small imperfections in the paint as the paint was done years ago and honestly not a high end job. The dashboard is hand crafted from walnut and I have an original black dashboard that goes with the car. So the summary is that this is an excellent high end driver that you can enjoy as is for many years to come or you can take this classic car to the next level. The car comes with a tonneau cover, an original dashboard, steering wheel and other misc parts such as a steering box and the old parts taken off the car during the mechanical restoration. As far as rust goes, the car is solid as a rock with only 1 very small bubble in the paint in the lower front facia of the car. You would not see it if I did not point it out.
