1974 Mercedes Benz 450SL convertible. This is an excellent example of an appreciating classic automobile. Its been a southern car the last 20+yrs and been maintained while still being used for nice weekend drives. This example would be excellent to just drive and enjoy or spend a few weekends and make it a top notch classic. It starts, runs, drives straight and true, and no excuses there. Paint is shiny and glossy, though it has been repainted sometime in its life, but likely 10+yrs ago. Seats are free of rips and tears, and the dash is crack free. Tan interior matches the like new tan soft-top. Car has no rust showing on it, jack points are rust free as well. Chrome is in overall good shape as is the carpet and trunk. This is a 42yr old car, so it is not without any flaws (hey I am about that age too and I have more flaws than this car, but I digress). The HVAC system is in tact and I have tested it to see if it works (it does), BUT the sliding bars on the dash to control it are broken. Looks to be an easy fix, but its a convertible and my version of A/C is keeping the top down and enjoying the outdoor air, so I never fixed it. It has a couple minor scratches that do not show up in the pictures, though the drivers side door has paint chip that has not been touched up. It does leak a little power steering fluid as well, but I have only topped it off when I bought it and not need to add any more. I consider it not enough to warrant a full repair (IMO, though the next owner can make that call). Overall very nice classic SL.
