Vehicle Detail
I've decided to sell my 2003 Audi S8 Quattro with the Premium Package (read the window sticker). I am the second owner and I've owned the car for a year and driven it a mere 4,600 miles (164,872 on it when I bought it). If you put a piece of tape over the mileage and asked someone they'd swear the car had 50,000 - 60,000 miles on it at best. It's an extremely nice car. I love the car but just don't get a chance to drive it; I can't seem to get out of my company car long enough to do so. I've loaded up as many pictures as eBay would allow and will give a complete detailed description of the car. While there are no printed maintenance records, it's obvious that this car was maintained and garage kept its entire life. Please review all of the pictures and descriptions and do not hesitate to ask any questions or request a specific picture, I have many more. I purchased the car from a friend who operates a wholesale dealership in NY that hand picks high end trades from local dealers. The car had 164,872 miles on it when I bought it on July 8, 2015. I had no intention of buying a car. I was there to pick up a BMW I purchased for my son; then I saw the Audi. The color combination is beautiful. The car is stunning and it still smells new inside. I was amazed with it. Then I drove it. I was hooked. Smooth, fast, comfortable and elegant. I had to have it. Now, I realize I didn't need it and have become the curator of a museum piece. The car has never been abused or damaged in my care. When I bought it there was a mention on the Carfaxof a previous accident. I found no signs of it. It could be the painted area I mention in the EXTERIOR section of the listing. I have had no major problems with the car since I have owned it. I replaced the fuel pump, a cam sensor, replaced a hose clamp that was seeping, changed the oil, had all other fluids checked and had it inspected. As far as I know the car needs nothing. I will start the bidding at an extremely low opening bid and run it as a NO RESERVE auction. I hate to see it go but it's taking up space and as of 7/1/2016 there will be a tax bill on it if I still own it. Feel free to request a factory inspection through my local Audi dealer. I'll take it to them, you pay the inspection fee. EXTERIOR/BODYThe exterior of the car is in excellent condition. The paint is clean, clear and shines well. There are very minor signs of wear, rock chips, slight scratch here and there but none deep or through all levels of the paint and no rust as it's all aluminum anyway. All of the chrome trim is intact and bright. All of the plastic parts are unbroken and intact. There is one spot on the driver side C pillar where some paint work was performed. In the right light you can barely see some discoloration. Not sure what happened but it's so slight that I couldn't get it to show in a picture. I decided to leave it. GLASSAll of the glass is original and without defect. I had the windows professionally tinted with LLumar film in August 2015 and is warranted for life. TIRES/WHEELSThe General G-Max 245/45 ZR 18 tires are in excellent condition with approximately 80-85% tread remaining. The factory wheels are in excellent condition with the exception of the passenger rear. My daughter curbed it last week and left a scratch on the wheel. The factory full size spare tire is in the trunk and has never been on the ground, as evidenced by the factory sticker on it (see the picture). It could be mounted to replace the scratched wheel if so desired. ENGINE/TRANSMISSIONThe engine starts and runs as expected, without any hesitation and smoothly. The oil has been changed recently using factory recommend synthetic oil and OEM filter. No leaks are present. A slight leak was repaired two months ago. The rubber hose to the power steering was seeping at the clamp. The clamp was replaced and the hose cut and moved a hair to allow better fit. The fuel pump and a cam sensor were replaced in August 2015. The timing belt was replaced at 163,000 miles. So, less than 6,000 miles ago. The transmission shifts as expected, smooth and flawlessly. The Tiptronic works as it should. No hard shifting or hesitation. The Quattro system works flawlessly. INTERIORThe interior is clean and still smells like a new car. The headliner is perfect and the sunroof works perfectly. The carpets are perfect with factory carpeted rear mats and factory rubber weather mats in the front (the driver mat has heel wear through). The seats are 14 way heated power Recaro and are in well above average condition showing minimal wear with no tears. The wood and other trim is in excellent condition. The rear window shades are intact, operational and without defect. The factory medical kit is included and fully intact. The ski bag does not appear to have ever been used. ELECTRONICS/INSTRUMENTS All of the electronic options on the car work as they should. All of the switches, knobs, buttons and dials are intact and operational with the exception of one. The button on the driver side door jamb that controls the interior motion detection aspect of the security system is missing. I knocked it off accidentally getting out one day and couldn't find it. I never used it and just didn't replace it. The front and rear heated seats work. The rear window shade works. The factory Bose sound system with 6 disc changer works flawlessly. Front and rear fog lamps are operational. The previous owner did install some LED lighting just below the headlamps. I think in attempt to update the look to the newer style. It looks nice and they work but they do cause an error code for a burnt out bulb in the System Check. Thank you for taking the time to review the listing. I've tried to cover everything but the car is so nice and loaded with options that I could go on for days. Please do not hesitate to call, email or message me with any questions. The car is listed for sale locally and all rights are reserved to end the auction early should a local buyer purchase it. This is a pre owned vehicle with age, wear and use on it. Please take this into consideration and bid accordingly. I'VE HAD SEVERAL PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS WITH QUESTIONS. HERE ARE THE CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS I'M GETTING, HOPE THIS HELPS. Yes, it has navigation. However, it is the old CD style system and though the CDs are in the car it is an archaic system. It does work but Google Maps on your phone is better. The small square thing to the left of the radio control is a telephone magnet mount. It will easily come right off. I can remove it for you or you can use it. It is mounted to the wood trim using the supplied foam adhesive. There are no tears in any of the window shades and they all work properly. The rear seats are heated and power adjustable. As is the steering wheel. Yes, both sets of keys are intact and operational. The A/C is fully operational and cold, both sides of the automatic climate control work.
