Vehicle Detail
This is a very good condition 1983 CB1100F in Blue. No reserve auction. Background: I purchased this bike and a red matching one from an older gentleman who was restoring them. He was unable to finish the project and I paid him $3,000 for each bike. The bike was taken apart, frame painted and restored from the ground up. The work included rebuilt front forks/seals, many nice upgrades such as aftermarket exhaust, oil cooler, expensive CR carbs, very rare shocks, steering damper, sprockets, and a very cool japan-only tail section that has a locking compartment. The paint work on the tank and side covers is very nice with OEM decals and excellent finish work. The tail and front fairing have some blemishes in them and I've taken pictures but they don't look too bad. The trip meter knob is broken and the tabs on the key/fuse cover are broken but it stays in place. Fuel tank is very clean (and currently empty) with some very small areas of light corrosion that would not require any attention at all. Left hand controls are faded. I had Bill from Rocky Point Cycle finish the assembly, recover the seat, add stainless steel lines and overhaul the brakes (they work like new). Bill compression tested the engine (all good) and the engine runs strong and without any issues. Bill also checked the charging system (which is notorious on these old CB's) and it is good. I was going to finish the last bit of work to plumb the fuel tank to the carbs (the CR carbs make this a tight fit) and replace the tires with new rubber. The old tires are fine but they are from 2007 so I bought all new rubber 6 months ago. Tires are Bridgestone Battlax BT45R front is 110 18" and rear is 140 17". My other bike is done and I'm out of time to work on this one. I have a decent collection of 80's sportbikes and figured I don't need two (2) CB1100F's! The bike (due to lack of fuel lines and connection to the carbs) is not running but there is nothing wrong with it (I've driven it with a small fuel bottle and temp lines without the gas tank). The ignition and lighting all work, the engine turns over and was tuned, just waiting on fuel line plumbing and it will run. My asking price is below what I have into it and is reasonable and this is a great bike for someone who can turn a wrench and finish the last details. Comes with center stand and new set of tires, one set of keys that includes one (1) for ignition/gas cap/helmet holder and one (1) for rear tail section storage compartment. Clear title and currently registered. Forgot to mention that it also has a brand new battery.
