Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is one of the most reliable vehicles ever produced, a 1998 Chevrolet Tracker 2 dr. convertible. We purchased this Tracker, our third in ten years, about a year ago as a daily driver for myself since I had a 30-mile commute for work. 2000 miles later, this car never let me down once! Talk about turn key, this Tracker starts up on the first attempt and we always say it was the last of the truly simplistic cars built, hardly anything on it is electronic in nature, making it so easy to maintain! It has the full original manual and warranty set in the glove box! Also, the Tracker comes with two keys and they work easily in both the ignition and door locks. The 2-piece removable hard top is extremely nice, absolutely no wind noise, has real windows, and the back one actually opens out to make loading easy from the back (a real treat for groceries!). The 4-wheel drive system works well, but luckily I didn't need it in the mild winter this year. Dad did test it out in the Fall though just in case! The air conditioning has just been fully serviced and recharged and blows ICE COLD. When we first purchased the Tracker, Dad changed the oil and did some service and repair work on the brakes and exhaust and installed a battery. The tires are in good shape, but may need to be replaced down the road. The spare is original and has never been on the ground with the original cover. The jack is underneath the seat. The radio and cassette work pretty well, but sometimes the sound cuts in and out. The speakers are not the issue and actually may have been replaced from the OEM because they sound great. We traced it to a known issue with the original radio, but since it is only intermittent, we opted to keep the Tracker stock. The transmission shifts smoothly and has been well maintained. Tracker shows 175,XXX and, since we still drive it daily, will increase even though my commute is much shorter now with a new position. Condition-wise, the Tracker does have rust in the rockers and the lower fenders as pictured, but nothing structural just cosmetic. There are also numerous dents, dings, scratches, etc., it is a driver! The seats have some tears forming in the seams, but otherwise the interior is in pretty good shape for its age. This would make a great starter vehicle for a student heading off to college or for a daily commute and is fairly fuel efficient, we averaged around 30 MPG. We are willing to consider offers, but please nothing ridiculous! Please bear in mind that this light duty pickup is over 18 years old and is far from a mint original. This vehicle is over 18 years old and is being sold AS-IS with NO guarantees expressed or implied. We are not responsible for shipping, the buyer will need to make arrangements, we will help load. We are open for pick-up times due to my father being retired. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to schedule an appointment to view the Tracker in person. Also, if you have any questions, please ask them PRIOR to making an offer. Please be sure to review and assess the condition for yourself through the description and pictures provided. Thanks for viewing our listing!
