Vehicle Detail
This 1948 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery was customized in the 1990s before being covered and parked in the previous owners barn for the past dozen or more years. First of all, the body on this car is fantastic. Clean and rust free on top and underneath. The panels fit and are smooth and straight. The doors, hood and hatch also fit great. The door handles have been shaved and there are door poppers that actuate them. The remote for the poppers needs to be replaced but is with the car. The paint is two tone with a combination of Gloss Black and Metallic Black. It does have a few scratches hear and there, but overall really looks good. The interior is appointed with bucket seats up front with an upholstered rear section. There is a custom Stereo with multi-disc CD player and amplifier in hidden compartments. Various speakers are also con sealed throughout the cabin. There is a full compliment of gages on the center console and just the speedometer is mounted on the clean, vinyl covered dash. There is a modern wire harness and fuse panel. The steering is a later model GM tilt set up. The doors are equipped with power windows and they do work. The wheels are custom aluminum Centerline mags with radial tires. They are both in excellent condition. The brakes have an electric power booster and they still hold pressure but I'd recommend they be serviced before use. The hood opens and closes smoothly but the springs are not attached. They are with the car, just not currently hooked to the hinges. This cool car was originally built with a 6 cylinder engine and driven that way most of its life. The previous owner had pulled that engine out and replaced it with a Chevrolet 307 and turbo hydramatic 350 automatic transmission. He never finished the engine installation before he passed away. As such the car DOES NOT run. It will be up to the new owner to finish the job. It also has a Ford 9" rear end. In all, this is a great, rust free example of a rare body style that can be finished and updated to the new owners taste. I have a clear title, in hand for the new owner. The car is being sold without reserve, so bid to own it and please be prepared to pay for it if you are the high bidder. The car is being sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" without warranty of any kind. Please ask any questions before bidding. Buyer is responsible for pickup and all transportation costs. I encourage to inspect the car in person and I'm happy to set up an appointment to show it to you or your representative. Thanks for looking and Good Luck!
