Vehicle Detail

NOTICE: Vehicle is being sold for repair or parts. Runs and drives fine but brakes have extreme pulsation due to rusted brake rotors. Michelin tires hold air but have serious dry rot. For these reasons the truck should only be lot driven. I did risk life and limb to bring you a video of the truck going in reverse, then a 0-55 mph run through the gears, then a very careful stop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uObXDrFpn4 NO RESERVE!!! WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER! Truck is being sold with NO RESERVE so please bid only if you intend to complete the transaction according to the terms and conditions listed. PLEASE ask any questions you may have BEFORE BIDDING. Serious, qualified buyers only. The high bidder is the new owner, period. Up for auction is a one owner 2001 F-250 Crew Cab Lariat 4 wheel drive with the 7.3 liter Powerstroke diesel. I recently bought it from my neighbor in a non-running state. Runs beautifully now. Truck sat unused for about 2 years before they decided to sell because it seemed to be "possessed". First, the horn came on by itself, pulled the horn relay. Then a couple of times, in the middle of the night, it would repeatedly try to start itself. Anyway, I traced the problem down to some corrosion on the connector behind the fuse block. I also cleaned the GEM unit although it looked fine. The truck now runs awesome, and the gremlin seems to be eradicated. The truck has been on the coast for several years. Although it has had two new car covers in the last two years, the last one was destroyed by wind a couple of months ago. Even being mostly covered, you can see from the pictures there is significant body rust. The frame has rust scale but looks solid to me. All the frame to body mounting points look good other than the bed itself. The roof skin is pretty much destroyed. The cab itself is pretty solid with light to moderate surface rust, corners and floor look good. The bed has multiple perforations on the floor as seen in pictures, wheel wells are solid. Tailgate has light rust at the bottom and won't open. Doors have light rust as pictured. Hood and fenders look ok. The Powerstroke is in great running condition. Runs stronger than my own 7.3, truth be told. Transmission shifts super solid. Occasional intermittent dead pedal from a stop. Likely needs the microswitch on the gas pedal cleaned. The 4wd is untested as I couldn't move the hub locks by hand and didn't want to force them. I know it did work fine before it sat. Brake pads and rotors will need replacing, along with the tires before being driven any distance. All power windows work. Power locks do not. Only the right rear door opens from the outside. The two front doors will open from the inside, and the left rear door will not open at all. Radio works, power seats good except driver's seat will not move fore/aft. Ac does not blow cold. Windshield is cracked. Truck comes with a clear Florida title, a stack of service records, window sticker, 2 keys and 2 fobs. Jack, tools and spare are all in place. It's your choice what to do with it. Put tires and brakes on it and it could be driven as is, would make a great farm truck. Pull it apart and restore it any way you want, a nice one is always worth $15k. Or part it out, the engine, transmission and interior alone are worth six grand. Truck is being sold with NO RESERVE so please bid only if you intend to complete the transaction according to the terms and conditions listed. PLEASE ask any questions you may have BEFORE BIDDING. Serious, qualified buyers only. The high bidder is the new owner, period. TERMS AND CONDITIONS, PLEASE READ: Vehicle sold AS-IS, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
