Vehicle Detail
This is a nice DIESEL vehicle - 4 cylinder turbo engine. They only sold these diesel models 2 years in the US and they don't sell the Liberty at all anymore. It is one of the most sturdy small SUVs I have driven. It is a 2005 model with over 204,000 miles. so there is some normal wear on the vehicle. It runs great and has a great deal of get up and go for a 4-cylinder. The 4WD works well (I just tried all configurations in the last snow we had), and it has full time and part time 4WD as well as 4WD low to get out of the really tight places. We had the 4WD linkage repaired over a year ago. There is a 2" trailer hitch receiver and trailer light harness on the unit. The rear seats fold down and the hatchback has plenty of room for those trips to Home Depot. The body and paint generally look very good, in my opinion. There is a shallow, minor dent in the front right quarter panel that you may not even notice in the pictures and a very small place where the white paint has been nicked on the door. The interior is free from holes and rips. We have never smoked in the vehicle and it does not have the odor of a vehicle that has belonged to a smoker. I purchased the vehicle used from the BMW dealership in Chattanooga in fall of 2013 with 179,457 miles on it. In the 25,000 plus miles we have driven it, we have not replaced tires or performed a major maintenance item, such as the timing belt. I am not aware of maintenance history prior to our ownership. What's wrong with it? There is a very slow oil drip from the turbo unit that has not changed for better or worse since we bought it (the turbo works great). The heater is a little slow to warm, but gets warm enough. This may or may not signal the need for a new thermostat, but that should not be an expensive proposition. You will want new tires very soon. The vehicle is located in the 37922 zip code area in Knoxville, TN. You may meet me in person to pick up the vehicle or I will ship anywhere at your expense. Cash or certified cashier's check on a local known bank to me. Verification will be required. Vehicle can be delivered on Friday, Saturday or Sunday or on a prearranged basis.
