This is a no reserve auction for a 1972 VW poptop camper bus. This campmobile is reliable and runs and drives great. It is tuned up and ready for travel and fun camping with new tires, battery, wipers and more. It starts right up and idles quietly. It cruises the freeway smoothly and has lots of power for climbing hills and long road trips. It does not leak or smoke and is dependable. The camper includes a pop-top, two double beds, a folding bench and table, cabinets, a closet, an electrical inlet/outlet, storm windows, screens, curtains, icebox, spice rack, stereo, water tank with spigot and more. The seats have no tears. The doors, windows and locks work good as well as the pop-top. All the lights, signals, wipers, horn, e-brake, heater and such all work. It has the original jack and tool kit with a front mount spare with new tire. The motor is a smooth running 1800cc engine upgraded with a single weber carburetor. The transmission is a manual four speed that works and shifts perfect in all gears including reverse. The clutch and brakes work great. It has newer shocks. There is no play in the steering. It gets good gas mileage and lots of smiles per gallon. This vehicle attracts many friendly waves and super positive attention. It's fun to drive and park and pop the top up. It attracts many curious people wherever it goes because everyone just loves this nostalgic old classic VW bus :-) I have a clean Oregon title in hand as well as some old paperwork from the history of the vehicle. The title has no brands or interest holders. The title will be signed and all ready to transfer into your name with no issues. You can pick up the vehicle and title in person here at my home and drive into the sunset or send your shipper who can take the title with the vehicle whenever it is picked up. I would trust this vehicle to go anywhere. I consider '72 the perfect year of VW Camper. This is the first year of the bigger engine (from 1600cc to 1800cc) and this particular one has been custom upgraded with a single two barrel carburetor instead of the stock dual carburetors (which had to be synchronized). This is a true classic air-cooled VW bus with 200cc more horsepower yet no complicated fuel injection or fussy dual carbs to mess around with. It does have some minor dings, dents and cosmetic imperfections as shown in the images however it's in great shape for being over 44 years old. It has very little rust anywhere I can find other than surface rust. The paint is not original and has been touched up over the years. The odometer works and reads 77375 however I do not know if it is actual mileage as I am not the original owner. Location: The bus is located in the driveway of my house at 2812 SE Powell, Portland, Oregon 97202. The vehicle can be viewed anytime and inspected by appointment by calling 503-351-5404. I prefer cash in person or Wells Fargo bank cashiers check however I will accept any cashiers check sent overnight or direct deposit. No personal checks. *You can pay the $500 deposit with your pay-pal account however the remaining balance must be paid by cash, cashiers check or electronic bank deposit. Note: If paying by cash the vehicle is instantly yours. If a Wells Fargo cashier check is sent overnight I can release the vehicle the next day. If paying with any other bank cashiers check or electronically the funds must clear the bank before I can release the vehicle. Shipping: I offer no shipping. The buyer is responsible for finding and paying for a shipper (if needed). I am available anytime to work with your shipper to coordinate and assist with vehicle pick-up. Storage: I can hold the vehicle for you up to 2 weeks on the condition that you pay in full within 72 hours of auction end.
