Vehicle Detail
The story behind this 1971 Honda CB750 K1 is exciting! It currently is part of the collection of the Motorcycle and Model Railroad Museum of Wisconsin, however, we are downsizing to focus more on the railroad end of things and so a number of motorcycles are being sold as we prepare to move to a new facility. This motorcycle was obtained last year in 2015. The family of a dealer who had been closed for 35 years decided to have an auction and sell everything in the store after their father (the store owner) had closed the facility prior to his death. The doors remained locked and the bikes, NOS parts---everything----sat dormant for the last 35 years. This bike was his pride and joy, as it sat, mostly untouched, in his showroom window, drawing in customers. He ordered it specifically from Honda with the Honda silver paint tank, which was not normally available as a US import. He drove it very little, to the fact that it had less than 100 miles on it when we bought it from the estate auction last year. We took it back to our shops, expecting to have to do major work to it, but no.....aside from a tune up, new plugs, fresh gas, changing fluids, and typical maintenance, it ran FABULOUS!!! So fabulous, that since then, we have put the miles up to 739---partly because we wanted to make sure everything was right on it, but also because this bike was simply so fun to ride, and one of the best running Honda CB750s we have ever had in our shop! The chrome is fine, the paint is fine, the seat is excellent, the rubber and tires are excellent---it is a really great bike as a whole. It has been stored throughout the winter and maintained in our heated facilities. The Vintage Motorcycle Certification Service gives it a grade of a 1.5 (1 is a perfect score) and we are confident you will love this bike. Payment should take place in the form of a $100 non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal, with the balance to be paid within 7 days via a certified check or money order drawn on a U.S. Bank through which we can verify the funds. We request the name and phone number of the bank officer that you are working with be included with your payment so we can contact them directly to verify the check and the availability of the funds. This allows us to release the vehicle to you quicker. Upon receipt and verification of the check, we will then send the signed title to you via registered mail. We DO NOT accept cash at pick up. Shipping cost of the motorcycle, if you choose to ship it, is the responsibility of the buyer. We will work with you to arrange a time for you to either pick up the motorcycle yourself, or work with your shipper to arrange a pick up date. The best dates for pick up are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 9AM and 5PM, but there is some flexibility depending on schedules, so communication is always key! We are easy to work with if you can follow the instructions herein. Feel free to email us with any questions or leave us a message at 920-865-1219, as we are an "open book" about the motorcycle. Thanks!!!On Apr-11-16 at 06:52:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone called us and asked about the tires but didn't leave a phone number so we couldn't call them back---there is a fresh set of tires on the bike that were put on at the dealership before we bought it. They figured no one would want to ride around on 45 year old tires, even if they were unused!!
