Vehicle Detail

1969 SS 396 El Camino, A/C Car with a T5 speed, 12 Bolt Posi rear end with adjustable control arms, drive shaft loop, new shocks, bushings and H pipe after the headers. It's a 68 396 block, oval port heads,MSD ignition, same manifold used on the 427, mild cam car really pulls and drives great !!. With the 5 speed you can be cruising at 1500 rpm's. This is a true car and one to restore. It does have rust where they normally do. solid underneath, cowl, door hinge areas, frame etc. All lighting works, 450 HP 396. Car runs extremely well and thumps...!!! Originally bench seat SS column shift A/C Car; currently the buckets look great and nice old school aluminum rims, power disk breaks, power steering. The car is a real SS. I have owned a couple and still have a real 69 396 SS Chevelle. I have done my homework, so for the ( Na Sayers ) and ones to be argumentative, please do not contact me to argue about it. Thank you in advance. The car is awesome and will be even better once some metal work and paint our thrown on. The car has no driving issues or anything, I would not hesitate to drive to GA from Orlando. The Elk is not a yard car or one that has been sitting, I drive the car 3 times a week. It drives straight, stops straight and does not pull out of wack. Also that goes with the car is a new headliner and the trim for the window etc. Originally Burgundy With a Black Viynl Top - Not As Common as other color combosVIN # 136809B413157 # 3931067 Intake L35 & L36 / 396 & 427# 6272292 LS-3 Heads Open Chamber Oval Port Don't get the 69 SS's mixed up with 68 VIN's 138 stopped in 68 to Identify the SS# Block Casting 3916323 Front Pad ID # 11222IV 18F163205 1968 396 The El Camino needs it's normal metal repair, car is in good shape along with the drive tran, inside the door jams near the rocker, lower area etc for metal, floor pans are good and all the important things, you can drive it as you restore it or what I would do if I could just plane restore it... Send your email if you want more pictures of the tranny and under, the craigs list add has different pictures. I will try to make a video and post it with a U Tube link Car is being sold locally and this listing can be ended at anytime. Contact me with any questions, 500 dollar deposit required when agreed amount is reached. On Mar-29-16 at 06:05:52 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is as per the listing, it has been viewed by many people who are knowledgeable about the Chevelle's and El Camino's, it is a real SS and in great working condition. The trim I have is for the front grill area above the bumper and the inside trim for when the headliner gets installed, i.e pillar pieces, dome light cover, sail panels and rear molding. So there is no confusion, this motor was in no way a 425HP stock combination. Originally a 325 HP motor, after its rebuild with the parts listed and cam, it is estimated to be about or around 425HP - with the combination of parts in factory form this would be the 375HP from what I can gather prior to Cam , its headers etc. On Apr-02-16 at 04:27:59 PDT, seller added the following information: To add, the car has a functioning alarm system.
