At the listed 229k the 17" wheels are included, at 225k the wheels will go to a buddy of mine. Last chance for a reasonable boxer you guys. A good solid boxer that needs an engine out belt service is a pretty simple proposition. Originally delivered to the U.S. in '84 as a red with black boxer trim configuration, the original owner had the top half painted black. The now unobtainable and awesome sounding Borla exhaust was also fitted those first years (I have the almost new condition factory exhaust). Also included is a set of the wildly expensive 17" wheels from carobu engineering along with extra splined inserts that allow modern non metric size tires. The metric original wheels and trx tires are on the car now. Everything goes with the car. I did a new clutch and rear seal in 2004 and only put about 1500 miles on it after. I bought a new 2500.00 starter last year. Rather than paying for someone else's restoration and taking their word on the quality of work done, buy this car and drop some money at a first class shop to get everything done right and know what you have. How many 350 to 500 thousand buck boxers will still need something done after hitting the road? Do the engine out service and the "while you are at its", do the paint if you wish, retrim the typical original leather shrinking dash top. Then drive or put this gorgeous car in your collection. You probably won't see a boxer at this price again. The cool thing about these cars to me is that even though prices are approaching a half million bucks they are still simple cars to work on. No fancy computers running everything, timing belts and gaskets that are available readily, limited production compared to the later cars. Personally, I planned to lower the car on Carobu coil overs and run the 17's with modern rubber while putting the original konis shocks and wheels aside. Save the oem exhaust and keep the borla that is on the car as it is a spine tingling cool boxer 12 sound. I was replacing the starter last I worked on the car so a brand new 2500.00 starter is included. I found the owners manual but can not find the fabric pouch that it came in.
