Thanks! Today we have up for Auction a 1973 Honda CB125S with a build date of 1972. This single cylinder overhead cam lightweight was first launched in Japan back in 1970, and weighing only 295 pounds, allowed it’s 15bhp @9000 rpm engine, to give this model a fair turn of performance, along with it’s dual purpose variants. Unrestored and in completely original condition except tires and maintainable parts. This 1973 Honda CB125S was a firm favorite with seventeen year olds of the era, those that could not afford a 250 and parents who were not willing to sign on the bottom line for the flashier Suzuki & Yamaha strokers, the Honda was considered the more sensible in the eighth litre size motorcycle. The bike has stunning acceleration and an incredible top speed of 65mph, the engine reves to an amazing nine and a half K and still gives 90mpg. These motors can stand a huge amount of abuse providing of course the oil is changed regularly. It runs 6 volt electrics. Kick start only is reliable usually requiring two to three kicks. All in all a great little bike of the seventies and rare in this original unrestored condition. This bike is not a barn bike or a bike that has been sitting for years and was resurrected from the dead. This bike has been in constant maintained condition its whole life. This was not a farm/ranch or gravel road bike. This bike is from a small Iowa town and was used as a commuter bike. The bike is a first year US model CB125S with a build date of 8/72 and a title date of 1973. the vin# CB125S1025046 with a low build number. This bike runs like new and has zero oil leaks or smoke. Starts easily and runs smooth. This bike has good tires and is ready to ride. The exhaust has zero holes, rust or pitting. The exhaust is in A1 condition. The gas tank has zero damage and NO rust on the inside. The tank is flawless clean inside. The tank is also undented. The forks do require new fork boots but are stiff and do not leak. All cables work smooth and not hard. The bike still has untouched wirring and internal wiring still in bar. The handle bars are not bent or damaged. The grips are also undamaged. The speedo does not bounce or make noise. The bike has the original tool kit. The rims are not rusted or pitted. The spokes are also not rusted or pitted and are all tight. The bike has a nice ride and not sloppy. The seat will require a recover but the pan is excellent. The side covers do have cracks but stay on the bike well. This bike runs and rides very well and is a rare model with really good bones only requiring a minor cosmetic restore with no mechanical needs required. Bike runs excellent and has a fresh tune up, Oil, Air filter, spark plug, valves adjusted, points set and cleaned and, carb clean. This would make a excellent cool vintage driver, easy resto or café racer project. This is a very nice running rider or easy project. This bike needs nothing mechanical and only minor cosmetic issues. This bike has plenty of power and runs smooth. The title is clear and in my name and ready to transfer.
