This Jeep has been well taken care of, looks good, and drives well for its age. It runs well with no problems mechanically. It has the tried and true, reliable 4.2 L 238 cu. in. inline 6 with Tremec T-150 3 speed manual transmission. The 4X4 engages every time through the transfer case and has locking hubs. The exterior diamond plating is brand new as well and the rear tires with less than 500 miles on them. The front tires are fairly new as well. This Jeep drive shafts are both telescopic, it has heavy duty bumpers, and a 3000lb winch that’s attached to the front of the frame. The suspension has been upgraded. Everything drives strong and it can drive over and threw just about anything. It has manual steering and could use a front wheel alignment. For a 1983 the body and paint are in fair shape with slight body rust but nothing major. The frame is solid. The soft top will keep you and the interior dry but it is in okay condition, and could use replacing due to wear, cracked rear plastic windscreen, and cloudy plastic windows. This was driven as a very fun weekend toy, and was daily driven occasionally. The odometer recently stopped working at 94k. This vehicle has a clean green Michigan title. This Jeep is drive-able so you can drive it back with you, however the 3 speed trans and inline 6 doesn't have highway pick up and go, and the steering is vaige (all in which is common for these jeeps). So if you live over 100 miles from the metropolitan Detroit area you might want to trailor it home.
