Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is Lisa’s baby for the last 10 years - her 2005 BMW Z4 2.5i The color combination is exceptionally rare, and gets a lot of heads turning and compliments. It's been loved, taken care of, and never raced. Bottom line is this is a good, solid, drive-it-home car. It has been Lisa's rock-solid driver for 10 years. The only reason it is being sold is our garage is full, and she's trading for a newer-gen Z4! So with that said, this car needs to be GONE, and $ in hand before the new baby arrives. Here are the basics:5 speed manual transCompletely well-maintained and unmodified drivetrain137,xxx milesSuspension upgraded 2 years ago to H&R springs (1” drop), Koni Yellow adjustable shocks, and new sway bar end-links up front. The car has been owned by it’s current owner for the last 135,000 miles! She purchased it with 2000 miles, fed it regular synthetic oil changes, and it has proven to be mechanically stone-reliable. Features:Comes with aftermarket M3-style 17” wheels with nearly new 3-month old Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and OE 16” wheels with Dunlop Winter Sport snow tires that will likely need replaced after this season.Winter package - THAT MEANS HEATED SEATS!TCSRain-sensing auto-wipersClimate ControlOE Bluetooth phone through audio systemSteering wheel audio controls OE integrated garage door openerCruise Here are the known issues with the car beyond typical signs of age:While the top latches and unlatches, and can be manually raised and lowered, one of the sensors for the auto-raise / lower isn’t working. The top motor itself appears to be operating fine. Just haven’t traced the sensor. The passenger airbag sensor isn’t working correctly. It doesn’t sense the presence of a passenger, It’s been traced to needing a replacement presence sensor in the seat itself. The stereo amplifier has an intermittent connection to the driver's door speaker, cutting in and out In the vein of typical wear and tear:The car has had one very minor body repair. The front fascia was replaced when it was backed into in a parking lot. CarFax will show this incident - however, despite what the CarFax may say, the car was quite drivable. Zero sheet metal or mechanical damage. The repair was done by a shop that restores Pebble Beach-grade show cars. Despite having been replaced, there are scuffs on the lower front and sides of the new front fascia. There are typical door dings, etc. on the exterior. Arguably less that a car at 137K might usually have. The seats and ineterior exhibit usual wear. The wood on the dash and center console is all intact, but have 4 places where the clear coat has stress-cracked. Shown example in a picture. Some of the wheels have a degree of cosmetic rash, and also show some finish corrosion from age. All are straight and in perfect functional condition. The clutch is original, and works just fine, but at this mileage, it will need to be budgeted for at some point, of course. The cosmetic plastic intake cover is damaged from many years ago. They are readily available to replace it if you're so inclined. Bottom line is this is a good, solid, drive-it-home car. It has been Lisa's baby for the last 10 years. The only reason it is being sold is our garage is full, so it's acting as the trade-in for a newer-gen Z4! So with that said, this car needs to be GONE, and $ in hand befoer the new baby arrives.
