Vehicle Detail
Im moving on to a different project car so this one needs to go. For those that don't know the Fairmont uses the same chassis as the Foxbody Mustang. The car is a 1982 ford fairmont futura. The exterior is in decent shape other than a little rust and a dent on the passenger side panel. The paint is still good and appears to be original. The ford drivetrain has been removed and replaced. I will list the modifications to this point. Chassis: Summit Racing Subframe connectors AJE K-Member, Spring Cups, and Engine mounts Summit Racing Tubular rear lower control arms Drivetrain: 2004 Chevy LM7 5.3L from a Chevy Express Van. (Tag from junkyard showed 36k) Brian Tooley Racing Valve Springs Trickflow 216/220 114LSA Camshaft Siemens Deka 80lb injectors ProComp Headstuds New MLS headgaskets Speedway Motors Aluminum dual pass radiator Ford Thunderbird factory electric radiator fan 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28 Automatic transmission 4L60E built by LeadingEdgePerformance in Las Vegas Yank 2800 Torque Converter TCI Floor shifter Custom 3.5" Driveshaft with 1350 u-joints built by Dans Driveline in Las Vegas 8.8 Rearend swapped in from Mustang GT. Has 2.73 gears and Hardened Yukon Axles Factory Ford "10 hole" wheels with Mickey Thompson ET Streets in the rear 235/60/15 Flipped Factory Exhaust Manifolds and homemade crossover for GT45 turbo 44mm wastegate with 5psi spring and Turbosmart manual boost controller The engine and transmission is wired with a standalone harness from PSI Conversions and tuned with HPTuners The factory fuel tank has been removed and a 16 gallon fuel cell put into the trunk. Walbro inline 255lph fuel pump. The factory gauges have been removed and a AEM wideband has been put in the factory gauge panel. Other gauges include Boost,Oil Pressure and Fuel Level. I think that covers most of the modifications. This is still a project car and far from being show quality but I makes one hell of a daily driver and weekend racer. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
